For starters: I'd like to proclaim I enjoy The CD-Album of "High Civilization" Immensely! As I stated in my Headline: It's a perfect example of the Bee Gees later recordings. Although it wasn't at all disco like their seventies recordings: It was melodious with a snappy rhythm. Also: It sounded far more modern than their sixties recordings. Having said all that: I'd like to recommend this Album to anyone who is a devout Bee Gees fan, or simply enjoys listening to extremely good music. Either Way: You definitely won't go wrong in purchasing it! As for its selections: One of my particular favorites is a song entitled "Secret Love". Although It has the title of an old standard song: It's nothing like it and very pleasant to listen to. If memory serves: High Civilization" was their immediate followup to the album "One". Upon first hearing the single on the radio: I immediately fell in love with it, and hoped all The Bee Gees following Albums would be as good as that one! In retrospect: All of them Were! Thanks immensely from a Perfectly satisfied Customer!

It took me a couple of listens to get into this CD. At first I really didn't care for it. When I finally 'got it', this harder edged direction the Bee Gees took on High Civilization, I was truly astonished and elated to have finally gotten this CD. It seems these guys have so many ways of creating and mastering a song that there is, in a way, no preparing for what you might find on their next album.

Sure, there are some very sweet pop-sounding tunes on here, like Happy Ever After and Secret Love, and they are marvelous songs in vintage Bee Gees style. It's the rest of the album, the driving beat and incredible melodies and nuances that have me thanking the heavens that I found this album, so many years after it was recorded. I think the Bee Gees were/are musical geniuses, and their talent comes through in a whole new way with High Civilization. I don't find myself skipping any of the songs on this CD, but some of them I play over and over, and I keep hearing new details in them. Their music is so complex, their production is masterful. I love Ghost Train, the title track, Party With No Name, Human Sacrifice, Evolution, and really all of this album. And to think I almost didn't get it because I didn't think I'd like it (thanks in part to some mediocre reviews here), and to think that I didn't care for it at first so could have just put it on a shelf. This is an incredible album!

As a lifelong Bee Gee fan, I was surprised to hear a song on YouTube that was new to me. Since I have all their albums, or so I thought, I somehow missed this one. The song that sold me on the album was, "The Only Love". Lush and heartfelt and wonderfully Bee Gee perfection. I had to have the album to complete my collection and to honor the talent and the dedication to their music that the brothers have always given us. I could not love you more.

Its’s by The Bee Gees, what else can I say?! I love their music. I have yet to find a song in their 50+years performing and recording that I didn’t like. Love their harmonies and creativeness. RIP Mo,Rob & Andy.

As always the Bee Gees put out another wonderful album. I never get tired of listening to these three brothers. Even more special since the passing of Maurice. There's no song of his thus far that I don't like "Dimensions" is very upbeat. Something I would love to dance and tap to. My favorite songs are "Secret Love" which became a hit. I really love "Happy Ever After" it's really catchy. "Ghost Train" I love it when they always add something extra to take it away from the rest of the song. It makes you think. If you like something different and you are a long time bee gee fan this is it. Wonderful songwriting, artistic, unique and different high techno sounds makes this album even better. They have me always. I'm hooked. There's not one song on this album that I don't like. Pure Gold. You should buy this album you won't be dissappointed. Happy listening.

The Bee Gees have not always been to people's liking because too often they only remember the Saturday Night Fever disco era. The group had been recording since they were kids in Australia. it was clear from the start they had talent as singers (awesome harmony) and song writing. Disco music, however, turned off a lot of their audience so for some years their popularity waned as did their record sales. That didn't stop them from continuing to record great music. The Bee Gees have always been like audio sponges, soaking in musical influences from many rock genre and creating their own unique band of music. This album released in 1991 admittedly isn't one of their best but if you like their music in general I don't think you will be disappointed with your purchase. High Civilization, Happy Ever After and Ghost Train are among my favorites on this album. With the passing of Robin and Maurice Gibb the world lost a remarkable musical trio along with older surviving brother, Barry Gibb. There was so much more great music they could of made but I'm very grateful for the legacy they left behind.

I recieved this cd today, it only took a few days to get it in my mail. I couldn't believe how fast it got here. Actually i had to look one more time to be sure on where it was sent from. It made me feel that the sender is really doing there best to give good service for the customers, which i appreciate much. The only sad thing is that "the bee gees" no longer is a group and can't make more music, it actually bring tears to my eyes. There is no group like them today and never will be. I personally loke all the music that the bee gees have produced, but on this cd there songs that i especially like "secret love" and "happy ever after".

The U.S. market seemed to penalize the Bee Gees for their success with Saturday Night Fever...something that they never expected. This album didn't get the air play it deserved in the U.S., so I found this music later in life, but better late than never. I love every track on this album.
