There's someone new coming to the garden's Summer Camp this year, and, well, he has a problem. He stinks. But that's what stink bugs do. So, when Stanley arrives at Camp-Bug-a-Boo, he creates quite a well, stink. Everyone tries their best to put up with the unusual odor, but things don't go so well. But then God helps the summer camp to realize that the reason Stanley stinks is because he's afraid and the thing he is most afraid of is others not liking him and accepting him the way he is. Our garden friends soon learn that God created each of us for very special reasons and that, even though Stanley is different, they need to show him love.

About the authors
YOU CAN FIND OUT MORE ABOUT ME and other books I have written at my website www.troyeschmidt.com.
I started writing for animation, with credits for such TV shows as "Dennis the Menace," "Heathcliff" and "Flintstone Kids." I found my way to Orlando and wrote three seasons on "The Mickey Mouse Club" the show that launched the careers of Justin Timberlake, Ryan Gosling, Brittany Spears and Christina Aguilera.
GSN and the producers of "The American Bible Challenge" contacted me and asked me to help them put together a game show about the Bible. I joined them in Los Angeles and have worked with an amazing team through the pilot and three seasons.
One of the highlights of my career was writing the video series of "Hermie & Friends," not only because I got to work with Max Lucado, an author whose writing style I connected with, but because I was able to write for Tim Conway and Don Knotts.
I have enjoyed my relationship with the online Bible GLO where I produced a documentary on the life of Jesus called "In His Shoes." What a thrill to walk in the paths of Jesus Christ and share thoughts about his life with Max Lucado and Norman Geisler. (www.globible.com)
I am also on staff at Family Church where I serve as a Campus Pastor at our Windermere Campus. (www.ourfamily.church)
I also manage a Bible Answer blog called Reason for Hope (www.reasonhope.com) where I answer hard questions about God, faith and the Bible.
Max Lucado is a pastor, speaker, and bestselling author who, in his own words, “writes books for people who don’t read books.” He serves the people of Oak Hills Church in San Antonio, Texas, and his message is for the hurting, the guilty, the lonely, and the discouraged: God loves you; let him.
Max is known for combining poetic storytelling and homespun humor with the heart of a pastor. All of his trade books began as sermon series at Oak Hills Church, and his sermons all begin with Max asking himself this question: “What can I say on Sunday that will still matter on Monday?” He’s been dubbed “America’s Pastor” by Christianity Today, and “The Best Preacher in America” by Reader’s Digest.
Max’s books have sold more than 96 million copies in 56 languages worldwide with more than 145 million total products in print branded with his name and words. Max’s books regularly appear on bestseller lists, including The New York Times. His writing has also been featured in Bible studies, Bible commentaries, songs, greeting cards, and even plush toys.
Max and his wife Denalyn live in San Antonio, Texas and celebrated forty years of marriage in 2021. They have three grown daughters, three sons-in-law, and two grandchildren.

He tries to make friends, but he gives off an odor so foul, they run away gagging. The camp counselors try to help Stanley, but he still stinks.
It is only when Stanley learns the other bugs accept him the way he is, he isn't nervous anymore. He also learns why God made him the way he is. When camp is threatened by a Bully Frog it is Stanley's special and unique ability that saves everyone.
God has made each of us unique and special. In this delightful story of friendship, it is these differences that show God knows what he is doing. A positive and entertaining story with a wonderful lesson on friendship and acceptance.
KINDLE vs. BOOK
On older Kindles, the photos are grayish, and not as entertaining as the colorful book. Unless you own a color e-reader, I recommend purchasing the brightly colored book, for the child's full enjoyment. However, on the Kindle, the ability for the book to read to the child is a plus, though the robotic voice may be difficult for children to understand.
VIDEO
The video offers a combination of gentle interaction of an adult (Mr. Rogers) with Disney's animation and the comedic voices of Tim Conway and Don Knotts, adding humor to bring the characters to life.
NOTE TO AUTHOR/PUBLISHER:
The cost for the Kindle version is too high (over $5), more than the "board books". For a Kindle, the price for a 24 page book should be $.99 to $1.99. No more. Plus, the illustrations could have been redone to have more appeal on the Kindle.
However, this is a cute book I recommend, but purchase as a board book, unless you need the Kindle for traveling.
