Perry Middle School was first opened in 1969 and served Worthington middle school students until 2010. At that time, Perry was closed and the building was used to house the Phoenix Middle School alternative program as well as Rockbridge Academy..

In 2018, the Worthington community passed a bond that funded the renovation and expansion of all of the district's middle schools, as well as the reopening of Perry Middle School.

Perry will be reopened for the start of the 2021-2022 school year to help the district handle increasing enrollment. The updated middle schools are all being reconfigured to welcome students in grades 6-8.

Bluffsview Elementary, Brookside Elementary and Slate Hill Elementary will now feed into Perry Middle School which will in turn feed into Worthington Kilbourne High School. The building will also continue to house Phoenix Middle School, Worthington Academy and Rockbridge Academy.

Jodi Robertson has been hired as the new Principal of Perry Middle School. She joins Worthington Schools after serving as an assistant principal at Marysville STEM Early High School.
