GED Preparation includes five subject areas measured in the GED tests:

• Reading, Language Arts
• Writing, Mathematics
• Science

This program provides access to individualized instruction in preparation for the tests of General Educational Development, (GED), to those students who do not have a high school diploma and intend to enroll or are currently enrolled in Workforce Education Program.

Students engage in learning experiences with certified teachers who guide their learning in one-to-one, small group and large group instructional formats.

Key Components of Skills Tutor:

• Promotes higher-order thinking skills in reading, language, writing and mathematics
• Covers all areas assessed on GED
• Provides practice lessons, tests and diagnostic materials

Skills Tutor: A self-paced supplemental learning program that allows adult learners to confidently practice skills in an interactive web-based learning environment. The content is aligned with state and national standards to support preparation for the GED.

Burlington English: Used in both our ABE/GED classrooms and our ESOL, or English Speakers of Other Languages classrooms, the web-based program offers a unique blended program for learning and improving English. It allows for face-to-face classroom activities and anytime-anywhere access to interactive courses.
