We are a family run business located in the busy market square of Henley. We pride ourselves on being a laid-back, quirky bar and restaurant, who specialises in only the best wine, cheese and charcuterie.
All our wines are tested and approved by the team, and with over 45 to choose from we are sure to have something to suit everyone. Our food menu was designed to be perfect for sharing for any occasion, whether it be grazing boards, fondue... or both!
We have a large selection of cheese and charcuterie, all of which you pick, to make your boards unique and special each and every time. Or, if you can’t be bothered to choose let our chef pick for you! Our fondue, freshly made each day, is the perfect comfort food for any occasion. A pot of melted cheese what more could you ask for!

Warm welcome on arrival, friendly chat about the wines on offer and given a couple to try before placing our order was a nice touch. Nice relaxed atmosphere to enjoy a chit chat with friends while drinking nice wines and a good variety of cheeses served with fresh bread, crackers and chutney.

Had a lovely lunch just before Christmas. We were meant to be in Switzerland but our flight was cancelled. Booked a table here to at least get some Fondue and it didn’t disappoint. Lovely staff and great food - we will be back !

They were out of all their cheaper wines and the food was enormously overpriced for what it was. £20 per person for a fondue? And the cheese platters were tiny. We wished we’d stayed in the previous bar, which was more reasonably priced for good wine.

Hi, Thank you for your review. While I appreciate that we had run out of Merlot, due to a Christmas party the day before, we still had the rest of our entry level wines available. Including a Montepulciano priced the same as the Merlot, £8, so not sure where "all" comes from. I have also yet to come across another eatery that offers a freshly prepared fondue, even with lesser cheeses and wine than we use, for the same price, so apologies but not sure where the comparison is for "enormously overpriced". We hand cut and hand slice our grazing boards to ensure the best quality is produced and only use the finest cheeses and charcuterie. You can definitely find cheaper options elsewhere but our value for money is undoubtedly excellent. Only if you want the highest quality of course. TCG

We popped in for lunch whilst Christmas shopping. It had been recommended by a colleague and they weren't wrong. Knowledgeable members of staff, plenty of wine by the glass and delicious.platters. Just got to work out an excuse to travel back over and go again. Glad we booked in advance.

Wonderful place for lunch which was what we had. Great choices of sharing boards and single items and the baked figs were amazing. Must try the bread too as its baked only when you order it and comes with salted butter

Hi Kevin, Thank you for your review. I am very sorry that you didn't enjoy yourself. As an independent business we pride ourselves on our food, wine and friendly service. To clarify, we had informed you that we were changing our menu the following Wednesday and this, Sunday, was the last day our current menu was available. This was why we were missing the 8 items, which is not acceptable and is definitely not usual for us, but being a small business we have no choice but to let things run out. We mentioned this at the point of you receiving your menus. Regarding the country music, we only do this on a Sunday and most people appreciate the change of pace from your usual Sunday lunch pub fare, but it's not for everyone. Hopefully, we can welcome you back on a non-Sunday soon. TCG

We let them know it was a 18th birthday and arrived to see a banger and card and complimentary bubbles. Service was friendly and food was great! It was surprisingly quiet for a Saturday lunchtime but will definitely go back.

It was our first time visiting The Cheesy Grape and we were allowed to sit earlier by the owner herself, who was very polite and welcoming. We had the table by the open windows which was lovely on the warm day and could people watch. The food was amazing and wine really good, we had a meat and cheese platter with loads on it and some side dishes too, the freshly cooked bread was flavoursome. We tried a white and rose wine and then had prosecco too. The prices are a little higher than other places but that is for the good quality and there aren't many places around that are like this to eat at. Will definitely come here again soon!

Nice decor and vibe, however the sharing boards are overpriced for what you get and ours came with so few crackers that we had to ask for a few more, which then appeared as a supplement on the bill! I felt this was short-sighted and disappointing.

We loved our evening at The Cheesy Grape! It’s a beautiful wine bar and the staff were really lovely. Amazing wine and the vegan cheeseboard was awesome! They also catered very well for me as a coeliac. I would 100% recommend 🥳🥳

Sadly we had a pretty disappointing dinner. The place was empty so there was no atmosphere at all. There was one waitress working and she knew nothing about wine when we asked what would go best with the fondue. I was glad that the fondue was even available as it's what they are known for, but the two times I have been previously they haven't had any! Sadly the quantity of fondue in the pot was minimal as were the sides that come with it. I am used to fondue on the slopes where the portions are generous especially when its for 2 people so this was also a let down. The pot of potatoes we got only had 3 potatoes in it and the bread basket wasn't even full so we had to ask for more. Very odd! Perhaps it's due to them being so quiet that they are serving such small portions?! Sadly, don't think we will be returning which is a great shame.

Cheese fondue was fine (nothing special) but the flame kept going out so it had to be sent back to the oven and it was then gone for a long time. The mushroom pâté was incredible and really stole the show. Service was quite slow but not too bad overall.

My friends and I had a lovely evening at the cheesy grape. The food and service was good. The tables and chairs were not brilliant, tables to tall and not enough space for the food we ordered. Overall a nice evening
