"Waves Central Has Run Into Some Issues"

A couple of days ago, I got this error message when opening Waves Central. It's worked fine on this system for years, and I made no changes to the system. Uninstall/Reinstall didn't help, running as administrator didn't help. The message mentioned something about WMI and permissions (never heard of it), but checking it via a command prompt it shows "consistent." I've got a message into Waves tech support, but wondering if anyone else has had to deal with this and might have a quick fix.

I don't, but WMI is possibly Windows Management Instrumentation. File permissions can be important in Windows. One article about this is How to reset all User Permissions to default in Windows 11/10 at thewindowsclub.com.

There's an inconclusive discussion from 2020 at waves forum Can’t launch Waves Central at all (Windows 10), though there are multiple problems conflated in it.

Thanks. Yeah, I found and read all the discussions I could find about it, with nothing conclusive. And there were warnings about how badly one could screw up a system by rebuilding the WMI table incorrectly, so I wasn't about to try that at this point. My Waves plugs are working fine, but without Waves Central no updates or additions can be made. Hopefully Waves will be able to take a look at my system and get it working next week.
