From Mr Koos Human
Sir, Apropos of Paddy Doherty’s review of The Kaiser’s Holocaust (August 28), it may intrigue readers to learn that Hermann Goering’s father, Heinrich Ernst Goering, had been the first German High Commissioner of the then German South West Africa, now Namibia. He served from 1885 to 1900. Before Namibia’s independence, Hermann Goering Strasse was one of the main thoroughfares of the capital city, Windhoek.
