The Boston Celtics are one of those traditional teams in the NBA that have won the most championships, they created a dynasty during the Bill Russell years that will remain legendary. One of their most important trump cards when they played are their fans at the Garden.
An infamous fan base that knows how to heckle every single opponent that gets to visit them. Michael Jordan himself famously hated the fans at the Garden because they always went for the jugular. LeBron James has already stated publicly that Boston Celtics fans are 'racist as hell'. With Draymond Green, he confronted some Celtics fans and he just mocked them in public.
Draymond is happy for the Celtics' defeat
Every single Boston Celtics fans is currently heartbroken and Draymond Green is petty like that, he loves to see it due to his history with them. This season alone, Green was spotted antagonizing Celtics fans more than once. After losing the series against the Miami Heat, Draymond was happy to use his platform in order to poke fun at the fans.
Unfortunately, this fans base chooses to heckle visiting players by using racial slurs on a constant basis. Some players don't care, they choose to not listen to anything that comes from the stands. But there are players like Draymond who can't take it and they relish for times like these. In his analysis, Green also took some shots at the team for not living up to the expectations. Every sportsbook had them as favorites to win the Finals this season and they again disappointed.
This is what Draymond Green said on his podcast: "But I must say, it did not hurt me to watch to the Boston Celtics fans suffer. Those people were really rude to me last year and I like to see them suffer. Quite frankly, for the second year in a row in a big close out game, the Boston fans suffer. Boston Celtics fans will make excuses, and I ain't hearing none of that sh*t. Because y'all rude, and I'm happy y'all lost. Not happy JT lost, but Boston Celtics fans, especially those of you that are in that arena, I'm happy y'all lost. Because, like, stop being who you are... Like at some point you just can't be that way. So stop doing that. And you know what that is, I don't need to go into that."
