Steve D fails as a Mystery, a thriller, and especially a Comedy. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/05/23 Full Review Merritt E Very silly but highly entertaining and funny! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Bob S it isnt young frankenstein. and its as far from the producers as you can throw a rock from a window and thats with a ladder hanging out the side back or front. critics hated it. no one went to see it. but everyone i know who has watched it reported a warm pleasant reaction with a few genuine laughs. many liked the old fashioned atmosphere. wilder directed it himself and it is by no means a stand out movie. but can a flop be a good movie. ive known a lot of people who liked it. i found it watchable. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Sorry Rotten Tomatoes - you got this movie wrong. Movie is a brilliant, classic comedy that works on so many levels not too mention paying homage to the bygone area of old radio programs. This has become an annual favorite during Halloweentime but it's a great comedy anytime of year. Dom DeLuise, Gene Wilder and Gilda Radner are just so much fun. Classic humor. Spooky ghostly mansion. Wonderful classic hollywood score. It only flopped when it was released in 1986 because it was the eighties - it's really a 70's movie paying homage to the 1930's/40's but released in the decade of decadence and excess. People - give this movie the chance it deserves. Love love love this movie! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member I find this movie to be rather enjoyable. A good family movie, I think, that could be seen as a gateway to horror. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/20/22 Full Review Audience Member Dom DeLuise steals this movie. Amazingly, the jokes here hold up better than other of Wilder's earlier films, which are more famous but also more dated. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
