The international break means some of Wolves’ biggest stars have not been in training with Bruno Lage lately.

When extended breaks were handed out to his international stars after Euro 2020, Lage brought many young players into his pre-season plans.

17-year-old Harvey Griffiths only joined on deadline day from Manchester City so he wasn’t involved in that during the summer.

But Lage has clearly done similar during the international window, and Griffiths has been training with the first team.

Griffiths is a talented midfielder and one of three players to make the move from City to Molineux this summer.

He has already impressed Under 23 manager James Collins, who says Griffiths has got ‘something’.

Lage has now had a chance to look at Griffiths close up while his more senior central midfielders were away with their countries.

He has a reputation for bringing through young talent, forged during his time with Benfica.

Wolves have made some impressive signings at youth level over the summer and Lage is the ideal manager to profit from that.

Griffiths will have to keep patient and working hard, but getting to train with the seniors should boost his confidence and make him aware of what he has to do to reach the next level.
