Lt. Col.Harry Llewellyn and Foxhunter.

After the war Harry Llewellyn concentrated on show jumping, buying Foxhunter in 1947 after an incredibly long search for the right horse. Together, they went on to be part of the British Show Jumping Team that won a bronze medal in the team event at the 1948 Summer Olympics in London.

They then captured the adoration of the British and world equestrian crowds for their role in winning Great Britain's only gold medal at the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki, Finland in the Team Show Jumping.

Harry Llewellyn and Foxhunter won 78 International competitions during their career together. Harry later served widely in the administration of British show jumping, and was knighted in 1977 before inheriting the Llewellyn Baronetcy upon the death of his brother.

True pioneers of our sport and certainly legends of the Golden Age of Show Jumping. The photograph is Sir Harry and Foxhunter competing in the show jumping events at the Royal International Horse Show, White City, London in the 1950's.
