Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has reportedly made a decision about his future amid reports linking him with Bayern Munich and Manchester United.

Kane’s current contract at Spurs is due to expire in 2024. He wanted to leave the club in 2021 amid interest from rivals Manchester City.

A deal was difficult as Tottenham wanted around £150m for their prized asset so he ended up verbally committing his future to the club.

The striker has been in stunning form this season as he has scored 16 goals in the Premier League. Given his contract situation, it is hardly surprising that he is being linked elsewhere.

A move to Man Utd has been mentioned as they are expected to sign a new striker in the summer as they pursue a long-term replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo.

Bayern Munich have also been monitoring Kane’s situation as they are yet to sign a replacement for Robert Lewandowski, who joined FC Barcelona last summer.

Christian Falk is reporting that Bayern Munich are ‘optimistic’ that they will be able to sign Kane but ‘it’s looking like’ he will pen a new deal at Spurs.

‘Bayern always knew that Tottenham would be the most difficult part of potential negotiations over the future of Harry Kane,’ Falk wrote for Caught Offside.

‘It’s always been about whether or not he’s going to sign a new contract with Spurs – if he doesn’t, they’ll be there. They’re aware, of course, that English players are generally reluctant to leave the UK, and that he wants to make history with records in the Premier League.

‘They remain optimistic, nonetheless, if he doesn’t extend his stay in London. Bayern bosses heard about a decision at Tottenham where they don’t want to sell him to another English club. It’s looking like he will sign but if he doesn’t then there are only so many big clubs that could attract him.

‘You know if you go to Bayern Munich, you’ve got a guarantee of winning silverware. So Harry has to decide whether he wants to be a Tottenham legend and one of the biggest strikers in history to have never won a trophy or if he will be a player who wins cups and perhaps the Champions League in Germany.

‘If you heard Antonio Conte in recent weeks, focusing on the prospect of winning competitions in future, it gives you a good insight into Harry Kane’s mind.’

Earlier this month, it was reported that Kane is now ‘open’ to signing a new contract. A separate report fro Gianluca Di Marzio adds that Kane “wants to stay” at his boyhood club.

“Harry Kane is open. They had two meetings about it already. I don’t know if they will find the agreement though. But they are talking and just the fact that they talked and had their two meetings is because Harry Kane wants to stay,” Di Marzio told soccernews.nl.

“I think it’s not only down to the economical part of the offer, but also depending on the project.

“Also, Tottenham never received another bid, for as much as they got offered from Manchester City some years ago. Tottenham is confident and if Harry Kane is so happy to talk, I think there are good possibilities, for sure.”
