The new “Yellowstone” prequel show starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren has an updated title, “1923”.

Initially, the show was titled “1932” and billed as the latest chapter in the Dutton family legacy, that started in 2018 when “Yellowstone” premiered. “Yellowstone” follows Kevin Costner’s John Dutton, a Montana rancher who along with his family face off against foes encroaching on their land.

Created by Taylor Sheridan, “Yellowstone” has been a huge hit for Paramount, spawning four seasons with a fifth on the way this November. Sheridan is the creator and executive producer of “1923”.

The nine year change between show titles is to incorporate the end of World War 1 in 1918 and beginning of the Prohibition in 1920, according to Deadline. The show is still being advertised as the next chapter in the Dutton family legacy, as they struggle to survive drought, lawlessness and the prohibition in Montana.

Its still unknown who Ford and Mirren will play in the show, but having two actors of their caliber in the show has fans excited. “1923” will premiere on Paramount+ this December.

“1923” is the second prequel show set in the “Yellowstone” universe after “1883” ended its one-season arc earlier this year. The series followed the Dutton family traversing through the Great Plains, led by actors Tim McGraw, Faith Hill and Sam Elliott.

‘1883’ Blue-ray and DVD coming out Aug. 30

Much of “1883” was filmed in Fort Worth by the Stockyards. The asphalt roadways were covered with dirt, and the street was transformed to be more period accurate.

The show is currently streaming on Paramount Plus for subscribers, but for those holding onto physical media, Paramount announced the limited series will arrive on Blu-ray and DVD on Aug. 30.

Included in the three-disc Blu-ray and four-disc DVD sets, are all 10 episodes of the show, over two hours of bonus content, never-before-seen featurettes and behind-the-scene interviews with cast and crew.
