Crime writer James Tucker, under the pen name of Bill James, introduced his morally grey crimefighters Harpur and Iles back in 1985 with the novel You Better Believe It. The thirty-sixth book in the series, Low Pastures, was published last year.
The remarkable long running literary success has failed to translate to television however.
