Madison Beer came to Riviera Theatre on April 26th, 2024, to deliver an unforgettable show for the second stop on “The Spinnin Tour.” It was a show like nothing else, filled with beautiful visuals, a gorgeous set design, and a list of songs from all her different albums. This was a night to remember!

The show began with Ellise, who was the first opener, and her set was unfortunately very short, but she was incredibly talented! She had a lot of energy, which got the crowd going, and she gave off these funky, pop-rock vibes. Her vocals were something else; they were so clear, and the entire crowd instantly knew how talented she was. The tour gave off this fun and young vibe; tonight’s crowd consisted of people aged 15 to 25, with a primarily female audience, which made sense. Her outfit was very coquette-like, which fit her perfectly. She also made sure to switch up the vibes from playing sad songs to happy songs, even though her set was concise. It was a great way to prepare the crowd for the rest of the night, and she was so great!

The next opener was Charlotte Lawrence, whom I had never heard before, but her music was fantastic! She immediately got right into it; there was no intro, and it surprised people in the crowd. Her outfit kept the skirt theme going, but this outfit was much more casual. Her vocals were great, too, but this performance was super laid-back. We were chilling out together, and her crowdwork was great. She made sure to laugh with us, have conversations with us, and make us feel like we were having a great time. There was a part where she played a slower song, and the entire crowd brought out their flashlights and waved them around, which was so wholesome. As she sang with the flashlights waving around the theater, it felt so heartwarming and straight from the heart. Unfortunately, there were technical difficulties with one of her songs, resulting in her having to skip it entirely. Still, she decided to switch to a more popular song everyone knew was incredible. Near the end, she made sure to introduce her band, which is such a nice touch, and more artists should do it! She was fantastic as well, so make sure to check out her music.

Madison Beer only recently blew up in popularity within her music; however, she has been a celebrity for a long time. At this show, it was completely sold out, and tickets were reselling for way more than retail, which shows how popular this tour is! She came on at around 9:30, and instantly, the crowd exploded. They had all been waiting for her, and she appreciated the energy. She wore a sparkly outfit with bunny ears, which I thought was funny. The set design was so excellent, though. It was a platform with beautiful visuals playing in the back, and her band was off to the side to show her off. She started the night with high-energy songs and sang very well. This was my first time seeing her live; her voice was similar to how I heard it through Spotify or the radio. She did a great job filling the stage, making sure to go to the back of the stage and the front to get up and close to the crowd. Throughout her performance, she also checked in with the crowd, making sure everyone was okay and having a good time, but she also thanked us, which felt so memorable. Halfway through the set, she played this visual story of a bunch of clips of her as a child with her brother, which was unbelievably cute and wholesome. The crowd loved watching it; it was a nice break for us and her. Near the end of the show, she changed into a Cubs jersey, which made sense since she was in Chicago, but it was a nice touch and felt so memorable. The end of the show was one of my favorite things ever, as a confetti cannon shot white confetti in the air, and it was such a perfect way to end the show. The tour just started, so catch her in a city near you! This was such a memorable show and worth going to if you can!
