To God be the glory for the opportunity to witness the first Sunday service in the Month of May, 2020. We thank God for His divine protection over the members of this church and other children of God worldwide. May God continue to keep us safe in His secret place during this pandemic Covi-19(Psalm 91:1) in Jesus’ name, Amen. We shall discuss what the mighty hand of God does in the life of people with Bible verses.

The mighty of God prepares us for the presence of God: The Bible text shows that the Philistines took the Ark of Covenant of God that signifies the presence of God among the Israelites from them after a fierce battle (I Samuel 5:1-2). In a war between Israel and the Philistines as reported in 1 Samuel4:1-2, the Philistines defeated Israel with 4,000 men killed. The elders and the warlords sent for the Ark of Covenant of God purposely to establish victory in the next battle. The arrival of the Ark in the camp of Israel accompanied by the two son-priests of Eli, Hophni, and Phinehas was celebrated with great shout to the extent that the earth shook.

The Phillistines were enveloped with fear of defeat due to ‘God’s presence’ associated with the Ark of God (I Samuel 5:3-8). The things in the Ark of Covenant of God were manna, tablets of the 10 commandments,, and Aaron’s staff that budded as documented in Hebrews 9:2-4. Surprisingly, Israel was defeated again in the second battle with 30,000 footmen killed (I Samuel 5:10). ()h what a terrible loss for Israel! What went wrong? Why this outstanding defeat?

The mighty hand of God teaches the Holy life: It was obvious that God’s presence was not with Israel in this battle. Sin was found among them. Sins of the house of Eli, particularly with his son-priests, Hophni and Phinehas who refused to obey God amongst others could have contributed to the no presence of God (I Samuel 2:22-25; 27-34).

Sin in any life removes God’s presence brings failure, defeat, reproach, losses, punishment, death, and lots of evil (Prov. 28:13; Romans 6:23). Sin attracted the negative into so many lives such as Adam and Eve (Genesis 3:14-24), Cain (Genesis 4:9-16); Ananias and Sapphira (Acts 5:1-11) and the city of Sodom and Gomorrah (Gen 18:20-33; 19:1-25). The country of Israel suffered defeat in the battle against Ai because of the sin of just one man, Achan (Joshua 7:1-20).

Children of God, we are expected to resist and flee from sin in our family, the church, and everywhere (I Peter 5:8-9. James 4:7-8). Remember, God cannot be deceived at your sinful life even though you pretend you are God’s child (Galatians 6:7). The presence of God will not be with anyone dwelling in sin(Psalm 24:3-5; Hebrews 12:14).

The grace to say no to ungodliness for you has been provided in the Lord Jesus Christ (Titus 2:11), appropriate it and with the help of the Holy Spirit respond to the call of God to live in Holiness (Genesis 17:1;1 Peter 1:14-16). If sin separates you from God, you are inviting defeat in diverse ways. The sin among Israel limited the acts of God unto deliverance and victory in their lives (Isaiah 59:1-4). Repent now and return to God for a renewal (Acts 3:19). Stop deceiving yourself.

The mighty hand of God gives victory: The Ark of Covenant of God was taken to the temple of Dagon, the god of the Phillistines to ascribe victory and supremacy to their god. However, Dagon fell downward the first day before the Ark of God, then the next day with virtually major parts of this god broken (1 Samuel 5:1-5). Hallelujah! No god could stand before the Almighty God, the one mighty in battle. The Lord’s anger burnt against the Phillistines as he afflicted them in various ways with His mighty hand and they acknowledged this (1 Samuel 5:6-710). The Ark of the Covenant of God cannot be mocked or ridiculed.

The mighty hand of God shut the doors at ridicule: Eventually, God showed himself mighty over Dagon and the Phillistines. Brethren, when you allow the presence of God in your life, you will never be ridiculed because God will fight for you (Exodus 14:14; Isaiah 54:17; 59:19). God is great and Mighty! It is indeed a fearful thing to fall into the hand of God (Hebrews 10:31). Are you on God’s side? You are on His side when you do His will (John 14:23). He will outstretch His mighty hand in your favour as His child.

Your disposition to God will determine whether you will experience God’s mighty hand for good or bad. God deploys His mighty hand for the good of His children. The mighty hand of God can accomplish the following:

The mighty hand of God delivers and saves (Exodus 6:1). If you believe in God, His mighty hand will save you from all evil. Any satanic manifestation will not succeed over you because the mighty hand of God is upon you.

The mighty hand of God will provide for and satisfy you. Provision and satisfaction (Psalm 145:15-16) of good things that man wants are in God’s mighty hand. He is a provider; He will do it for You.

The mighty hand of God provides divine protection (Psalm 139:10). His hand protects and keeps you from all evil. The mighty hand of God holds and sustains.

The mighty hand of God brings back to life (Luke 7:13-18). Jesus’ mighty hand touched the coffin at a dead man and the dead responded to His command and was restored to life. As you believe God today, His mighty Hand will touch you and bring all dead things and situations back to life in Jesus’ name.

The mighty hand of God helps and refreshes. The good hand of God brings help and refreshment (Ezra 8:18; Neh. 2:8,18). The help on every facet of God will be received from God.

God’s mighty hand performs miracles (Acts 4:30). Do you need miracles from God, you will call upon the Lord and will stretch His hand to perform miracles in your life.

His mighty hand fights and defends His children (1 Samuel5:1-12). There are many spiritual and physical battles and ways that the mighty hand of God fights and wins for us. The reason is that we are His children.

God’s mighty hand heals (Mark 1:40-42; 8:22-25; John 9:1-7). Divine healing comes from God. When you are trusting God for perfect healing, seek the mighty hand of God, you will receive healing.

The hand of God blesses (Mathew 19:13-15). There is no doubt that everyone needs blessings and multiplications. It is from God only we can find blessings and multiplications. The mighty hand of God will bless You abundantly.

Conclusion

Your disposition to God will determine whether you will experience His mighty hand for good or bad. May we not fall into the hand of God for evil deeds (Hebrews 10:31). I enjoin you to draw near to God and by this, you will enjoy God’s goodness as His mighty hand works in your favour (Job 22:21
