Very interesting info about roasted barley and yeast.
Very interesting tour thorugh the history of that important Irish beer. We visited the Guinness Storehouse located in the heart of St James’s Gate, in Dublin City, in a sunny afternoon. That gave us the opportunity to enjoy a beautiful view from the top of the Arthur Guinness' historical building. The beer that we drank there, at the seventh floor, was delicious. We really enjoyed learning many information about roasted barley and yeast of such Irish stout, which has been one of the most successful alcohol brands worldwide since 1759.
Hi there, Thanks so much for your lovely review. It sounds like you really enjoyed the tour! We would like to thank you for your kind words, and you are welcome back anytime to dine in our restaurants and enjoy the spectacular views from our Gravity Bar Thank you, from the Guinness Storehouse

Last minute tour with my son. Had been to the storeroom about 20 years ago and it has definitely been added to in that time. Beautifully presented displays. Easy to navigate. And a lovely pint at the gravity bar on top. A great place to visit.

The free Guinness and the view from the graffiti bar make it totally worth it.
If you like and drink beer then Visiting the Guinness Storehouse is of course a must during any short trip in Dublin. But because of its popularity the visit thru the 5 story exhibition is informative but long and not really entertaining. The tasting is basic and a bit massive (we were in a room with at least 60/70 people) but once you reach the Graffiti Bar on the 7th floor for your free pint of Guinness the amazing view you get over Dublin make it all worth it!

    Worth A Visit
This really is a mix of history and advertising. However, the views from the top floor bar whilst you have a Guinness makes the whole thing worthwhile. It’s a slick operation, and it needs to be. It was sold out all day on the Sunday we went. Lucky we’d taken the advice to pre-book. They get the people in, then keep them moving. Some of the old machinery and models of the Guinness shipping fleet are very interesting. The exit is via the shop with a nightclub feel seems to sell everything imaginable with Guinness branding. There’s also places to eat if you’re really keen for the whole immersive experience.

    Cold beer and great views
This self guided tour is a must do when in Dublin. We were able to pre-book a few days before hand and able to take our time. The building is quite large and ends up at the bar! You'll enjoy a cold beer with jncredible views.

    Commercialized But Fun
We did the self guided experience which was fine. You walk through following the arrows and reading the placards at your leisure. You move upwards floor to floor, finally attaining the Gravity Bar where you can enjoy your pint overlooking the city. I thought it was heavy on the marketing but very good. When we left, we realized we had spent 3 hours there. A must see.

    Great visit!
Guiness storehouse is well worth a visit even if you don’t drink Guiness! It was all so interesting and so well presented and tied up with the history of Ireland. We spent hours there! Our ticket included a drink in the rooftop bar at the end, we had apple cider! It was a lovely place to end the tour. The shop is really good too.

Nice Self Guided Tour and Facilities
We had a nice self guided tour of the Guinness Beer production and was able to taste some samples. The facility is very spacious, modern and clean to handle large volumes of visitors. The gift shop is stacked with quality products.

    Fun, even for non-drinkers!
I’m not a big beer person, but I still enjoyed the storehouse. Informative self-guided tour..lots of levels. My favorite level was the advertisements. Gravity bar on top gets quite busy. Large souvenir shop and yummy cafes in the building as well.

P*ss poor! Awful crap boring experience... will never go again that’s for sure. There were far too many people let in at once, it was like feeding day at the zoo.. but with no zoo keepers, I think we saw two members of staff in an hour. Agree with other people on the extortionate price for absolutely nothing: we visited the Heineken tour in Amsterdam and it just put this to shame. There are 7 floors of nothing, not sure what the Guinness people think they tell you but it’s just boring. Not to mention the huge crowds they let in, as I said it’s like feeding day at the zoo because there are 20000000 people in a tiny space and there are no members of staff to keep people in check. It took us 10 minutes to get to the first floor and there were a bunch of guys pushing each other in the barley and no member of staff around they just carried on breaking things. I’m all for having a laugh but there are some limits... once we finally arrived at the top for the gravity sky bar that they so proudly sell, just wondered really why you could see. The windows were white so you couldn’t see out, probably from the influx of people that just stood around in hurts. I’ve been to busy bars but this was just plain ridiculous, we stood to get a pint of Guinness for 30 minutes and we only did it because that’s all we pretty much paid for - an expensive pint of Guinness. The toilets on different floors were filthy and clearly hadn’t been cleaned at all ever 😂 I cannot recommend enough that you do not go, I really don’t know what you get for €19????? I didn’t learn one thing apart from how much I dislike feeding time at the zoo. Would never go again and will strongly discourage our friends from going in the near future. Waste of time money and energy.

I can understand why people might not get the full Guinness experience if they do the regular tour. You don't see much of the production process and it really centres on the gift shop and rooftop bar, which is insanely busy. So I'd spend the extra amount for the 90 minutes in the exclusive Connoisseur bar, which was great fun and we learned a massive amount about Guinness. Plus we were taught how to pull the perfect pint. And got a certificate to prove it. I appreciate this might be too costly for families but for individuals and couples, it's a lovely, quaint bar with panelled walls and parties are restricted to 16 people.

Hi Tony, Happy to see that you enjoyed the Connoisseur Experience. I'd say you are an expert on Guinness now at this stage, and you have your certificate to prove that you can pour the perfect pint. We are currently in the process to extend the rooftop Gravity Bar, this extension will add a significant amount of space which will allow visitors to enjoy the views in comfort. The one and only thing you need to know before you decide if Guinness Storehouse is for you is - do you want to see the actual brewing process or do you want to see an exhibit set up in a way that you get a presentation of the brewing process, transportation of end product, and marketing strategies? Guinness Storehouse gives you the latter, because this is not the actual brewery (that's next door, and you can't get a tour there)! Once you get over that fact, it's actually a pretty nice set up. They converted an old fermentation plant building into a seven-storey exhibition space. Every floor covers a theme, and to me it was interesting. They do get crowded and they are quite expensive, but just do what my husband and I did - buy a Dublin Pass for 2 days and hit 5 museums/tours a day, so Guinness Storehouse was around 10 euro for us, instead of 25.

Thanks Maja, for this feedback. I am delighted you had an enjoyable experience. The tour takes place in the old fermentation plant and the active brewery is visible from various vantage points throughout the building. We do offer Brewery Tours which bring visitors 'behind the gates' on the ultimate Guinness experience. This is available to book through our website if you are visiting again. The store house is a commercial circus that celebrates the black stuff and it's making. The welcoming is an experience in it self. Overcrowded and incredibly loud. A rather basic introduction with a send off to the exhibition floors. The exhibits are fairly poorly sprinkled over several floors with that give one the impression off some spare parts left over from the Brewery with some television commentary in a rather emotionless Theater setting.
The Storehouse is not a typical Brewery sightseeing visit what many people have in mind. It is over priced and the nepotism is obvious on every floor one visits on their way to the sky bar. A Guiness beer or a alcohole free drink is included in the entrance fee when visit the skybar it the top floor. The skybar has a good view over parts of Dublin, which should be a highlight, but is most the time overground and it is therefore impossible the enjoy the view.
With over one million visitors as I understand, it is the most dreadful industrialised tourism experience one can come across. Waste of time and money!!

I think @LauraN373 said it best about the private guided tour, it really does make the adventure memorable and quite educational [in a fun way] as well.

My guide showing me around this enormous structure, [I believe seven floors] was over the top, super-duper, cute cute cuttie great, and learning to pour a Guinness was the one time I had so much fun being frustrated, I did eventually pass and got my certificate of excellence... sadly I forgot it at the hotel but not before snapping a photo of it.

The Guinness attraction is so brilliantly laid out floor by floor with interesting facts everywhere, without the feeling like trying to see [up close] the Mona Lisa at the Louvre... eek!

Topping off [no pun intended] the morning was the Gravity Bar, the views are awesome but even better is watching the men and women pouring the Guinness, it's like whack-a-mole, without the whacking or moles... they are laser focused and fun to watch their happy smiling faces.

There's my two cents, go either private, group or solo, no one should ever plan a trip to Ireland and not include this Guinness adventure, I highly recommend a visit for Families, couples, small/large group of friends and solo travelers like myself, great fun for everyone!

Enjoy every adventure ahead of you and all the diversity our planet offers

Of course anybody that loves Guinness beer and finds themselves in Dublin is going to take this tour.

The tour itself is truly interesting and really cool . Price of admission is expensive, although you will receive a pint of Guinness at the end of your tour.

It’s amazing how large this brewery really is. We really liked how informative the guides were and the printed brochures as well. The glass observation deck where you will receive your pint has some tremendous views of the city. However, you have to wait quite a while in line to get your pint and it’s extremely crowded. We ended up just sitting on the floor close to a window, as no tables were available. Those were in short supply.

Definitely worth a visit!

I was really expecting to see some of the actually factory but this is more like a museum, but a fun one. There was lots of interesting facts and fun photo opportunities as well as a few chances to drink Guinness! You get a voucher for a pint when you pay in. You can use your voucher to pull your own pint (and drink it) or you can get three samples of different types or a regular pint of Guinness. All the staff were really helpful as everywhere was really clean. It was really busy so there was quite a wait to pull a pint but it was really fun. The gravity bar at the top had great views but was absolutely packed so we couldn’t really get close to the windows. We spent around three hours overall, with a couple of pints in the bars and waiting half an hour to pull a pint. I paid for the audio tour but I didn’t use it so I would recommend not bothering with that unless you have trouble reading, all the information is on signs around the venue.

Come and pull your own pint of Guinness, take in the view from the sixth floor and find out the history of this unique drink. Good for a few hours and price included in the entry, queue to learn how to pull your own pint and there is plenty of places to eat and drink. Not recommended for kids in my view..

Visited here twice and loved it each time. It is a self guided tour which is packed with information and is beautifully presented. Each floor offers something special. Staff are friendly and knowledgable. The top floor offers a lovely view to enjoy a drink in. I would recommend booking tickets online before as you get them at a cheaper price and you can skip the queue (there hasn’t been a queue both times I’ve visited using pre booked tickets).

The Guinness tour was a must do when we were in Dublin. The only downside is it’s not a guided tour, you take yourself through the building climbing the levels to hear about the Guinness story. We did pay the extra for a STOUTie £5 special rate for the six nations with a valid ticket, rugby shirt etc. Free pint of Guinness with your normal admission price also. I’m not a beer/lager/stout drinker but as they say the ruby red tastes so different from its home!
