Earlier this month, the 17-year-old stepped out in the sparkling vintage Badgley Mischka dress that her mum wore 22 years ago, per People. Henchy donned the square-neck gown for an event honouring her mum at Café Carlyle.

Grier Hammond Henchy’s background
Grier Hammond Henchy was born in April 2006 in Los Angeles to Brooke Shields and her film director husband Chris Henchy – on the same day and in the same hospital as Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes daughter Suri Cruise, per People.

Yet Shields wasn’t initially on board with the idea of her daughter joining the cutthroat world of modelling, according to her interview with Live With Kelly and Mark.
“I fought it for so long,” Shields said. “It’s such a different industry now than it was.” Shields added that her youngest kid was most interested in runway modelling. Eventually, she agreed to giving her daughter a chance in the industry after realising she was “really passionate” about it.
According to Henchy’s Instagram profile, she’s currently based in New York, a city renowned for being one of the fashion epicentres of the world.

She was in a Victoria’s Secret campaign
Henchy has attended multiple red carpets and Hollywood events with her family over the years, but her modelling career is only in its early stages.
Nevertheless, she’s off to a strong start. For her first campaign, Henchy posed with Shields for a Victoria’s Secret’s Mother’s Day photo shoot and video.
She borrows from her mum’s wardrobe
Besides the shimmering Badgley Mischka dress, Henchy has taken plenty of other pieces from her mum’s wardrobe to attend high-profile events.
On one special occasion, the young model rewore Shields’ bright red Dolce & Gabbana suit from her appearance on NBC’s Suddenly Susan, to the premiere of her mother’s documentary Pretty Baby this March.

When Shields’ documentary Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields was released earlier this year, many long-time fans were shocked to hear about some of the traumatic experiences the former child star had experienced during her career.
Shields said her protective daughters were “mad” because they didn’t know the extent of their mum’s upbringing until they saw the production.
