Gregory A. Lay is a circuit court judge for the 27th Judicial Circuit, which presides over Knox and Laurel counties of Kentucky.[1] He was appointed to the court by former Governor Ernie Fletcher in August 2004 and elected to the court in November of that year. Lay was later re-elected by voters in 2006 and 2014, and his current eight-year term expires on January 1, 2023.[2] [3]

In July 2011, Lay was appointed vice-chief regional circuit judge for the Cumberland region for a two-year term ending on December 31, 2012.[4][5]

Education

Lay received his undergraduate degree from Eastern Kentucky University in 1987 and his J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 1990.[2][7]
