Yunus Musah puts on show at the Mestalla for Gregg Berhalter

Yunus Musah put on his best performance of the season for LaLiga's Valencia, assisting on two goals in a 5-1 win over winless Getafe at the Mestalla. The first assist in the 14th minute was special, a ball lofted over the Getafe backline into the path of streaking Samuel Lino. U.S. national team coach Gregg Berhalter   was the stands for the game.

The assist Musah gave to score the second goal for Valencia was a chip with a good back spin with the just right weight on it. This was the first time I've seen him give a nice quality pass in such a short distance.

The problem I find is Getafe is a last place team, where the competition has outscored them in goals 2-11....Their defense is atrocious as you see Musah was wide open ,not an opponent within 8meters of him right outside the penalty box, thus allowing him to make the pass. I think GB would have been better served to watch him play against a team like Real Madrid ,Barcelona, Villareal to see how Musah operates ,for in World Cup level competition Musah is not going to face Getafe like players.

I watched this game and Musah was impressive, dominating the midfield throughout.  The second assist was also very nice.  He recoved the ball in near the midfield line, turned, and hit a perfect long through pass to one of his onrushing forwards, very reminicsent of the kind of assists Puig has been hitting for the Galaxy lately.  While its true the opposition was poor, this performance is important that it consolidated Musah's role as Valencia's undisputed No. 8.  Particularly given that he also played very well in the loss to Atletico.  Remember that prior to this season he was often relegated to the wing.  Now he finally has the same role with Valencia as with the USMNT.
