The character first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #31 (December 1965), and was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. He is Peter Parker's best friend, the son of Norman Osborn, the father of Normie Osborn and Stanley Osborn, and the second incarnation of Green Goblin. The character has appeared in many adaptations of Spider-Man outside of the comic books, including various cartoons and video games. He is portrayed in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man film trilogy by James Franco, 2014's The Amazing Spider-Man 2 by Dane DeHaan.
