The vibe:

Green Valley Ranch is perfect for people who are coming to Las Vegas but don't want to be immersed in the city's round-the-clock vibe. Located in Henderson, this elegant resort provides a retreat far from the typical tourist crowds yet it's still close to the Las Vegas Strip and in the vicinity of several golf courses, cultural attractions and wonderful shopping opportunities.

Prominently positioned on eight lush acres, the resort's architecture and surrounding elements offer the feeling of a Mediterranean villa. The lobby has an elegant ambiance akin to European manor houses of centuries past. So basically staying at Green Valley Ranch is like traveling around the world. Well...not quite but hey, we like to pretend.

What we love:

With sweet dreams in mind, the resort's rooms and suites are located in an eight-floor tower -- far away from the busy casino for that much needed peace and quiet time. 

And since we know a thing or two about drinking, we will happily point you to the resort's Drop Bar – a modern watering (or, er… alcohol-ing?) hole that boasts a chic vibe and doesn't believe in empty glasses. 

But there are other great things to do at Green Valley Ranch when you are not drinking. We like to soak up our booze with incredible food from the hotel's restaurants or from The District at Green Valley Ranch, located just steps outside of the hotel's front entrance.

Within the resort is the variety of dining options including the finest in gastronomy at Hank's, a steakhouse known for its impeccable service and high-quality prime cuts of beef. Another favorite among guests is Tides Oyster Bar, where the seafood is fresh and served with New Orleans spirit. For more casual meals, stop by Pizza Rock by Tony Gemignani, the Feast Buffet or the Grand Café, which is open 24 hours or stop by the fast food outlets in the food court.

For shoppers, The District at Green Valley Ranch, an outdoor, urban-style retail and dining complex, is just a few steps from the hotel's front entrance and is certainly fit for any shopper.  But if your shopping agenda is in the major leagues and you're looking to completely submerge yourself in the motherland of retail (or otherwise known as the Strip's Fashion Show Mall), the resort provides a complimentary shuttle to guests with service offered to and from Mandalay Bay on the Strip as well as McCarran International Airport.

But when the time comes for relaxing, there is no better place to do that than at the resort's stunning pools. In the property's spacious backyard, there is one pool and Jacuzzi for all guests to use while other areas like The Pond and The Backyard, which has an incredible sand bottom -- are for VIPs and special events. Featuring private cabanas, a poolside café and a Mediterranean-style lounge the upbeat atmosphere is also perfect for outdoor concerts and pool parties during the spring and summer months.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Old & Outdated & Moldy Showers Chose this hotel to be close to family in Henderson. Upon entering the room it looked decent later that night went to shower. The shower is full of mold. The whole shower needed to be gutted. It was disgusting. We called the front desk they did give us a room relocation they said it was going to be upgraded to a suite and it was not, the room was further from the casino, and the next shower still had mold we had to clean it ourselves very disappointed in GVR. The room was paid for in full or I would’ve checked out four nights/five days. Ate at the Lucky Penny restaurant it was disgusting. Our pancakes were burnt we were the only patrons in the restaurant there should’ve been no reason for burnt pancakes, and to make matters worse, they flip the pancakes around so we wouldn’t see the Burnside just unacceptable. We both came home sick and we’re blaming it on the mold & filth in the bathrooms.

The staff were all pleasant and helpful. This will be on our list for future trips through this area. Forget Vegas. This resort in Henderson has earned a top pin in my favorites.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful Hotel Beautiful Hotel Lobby and Room. Our king bed room had a wonderful bathroom with a separate shower and separate tub. Toilet was also in its own little room with door. Nice makeup mirror and outside vanity area too. Bed was super comfy too. Room was roomy and lovely. Loved how you could text down to valet and your car was there waiting for you. Great service and the friendliest staff ever from the front desk, valet, pool service, and maid service. We were very impressed!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not as advertised Checking into the hotel was probably my best experience at the Green Valley Resort even though my keycard did not function properly the first time. Customer service at the front desk was excellent. The room was in a quiet location and on a higher floor as requested. However, it was not very clean as I found someone else’s food on one of the chairs…peanuts to be exact. While at the pool, service was abominable. I must have waited 45 minutes for any service with servers walking by me many times. I flagged two separate servers 20 minutes apart to ask for a drink. Their response was “we will send your server right over.” That right over took another 20 minutes after the second request. Later that evening, I called the front desk to arrange for a seat the next morning on the airport shuttle that was advertised and my main reason for staying at the resort. I was told that service was discontinued. All in all, I was highly disappointed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from GVRR has failed my expectations! Our time spent at the Green Valley Ranch was a disappointment. On our second night, we noticed there was no hot water. The resort had not informed us that they were shutting the water off. They also eventually turned off the cold water. Only after calling the front desk were we told that the water would be turned off for three hours due to an emergency. The lady who answered the call also sounded annoyed and impatient when we asked about the water situation. Well, it was not our fault asking about no water to take a shower or flush the toilet in a luxurious resort hotel, was it? It was also a perfect timing for them to have a water emergency after midnight, what a coincidence!! Additionally, it was evident that the quality of the towels and toilet paper were poor. Ther were more like Motel 6 quality. We expected more out of a 'luxury' resort.

We recently attended the Construction equipment expo in Las Vegas and decided to choose somewhere away from the strip for our stay. The Hotel was very nice. Rooms were clean and elegant. Valet parking at Hotel entrance was convenient and if you don't want to park at Hotel side they have a huge parking garage for Casino that has plenty of parking. They do not have a shuttle to airport so plan on getting ride. Casino is nice and has lots of food choices. I would recommend the 24hour cafe, they had great food! Over all we had a great stay, would highly recommend Green Valley Ranch!! Nice short distance back to the Airport as well
