Robin is our man on the inside, so I'll leave it to him for clarification as to what these releases are going to be. New packaging? New remastering? Anything different from what's come out in the past few years?

Interesting Linda, it's all gnus to me, ha. I'll ask my spies to ask their spies if they know anything. But of course they'd release these again before releasing The Autumn Stone, triple ugh !!!

My spies of spies have no extra details to report on these 3 reissues. Don't know if the remastering is new or previous, don't know the track listings so don't know what if any new bonus cuts.

I did happen to notice that all 3 are also listed on Amazon as vinyl releases the same day, 2 of the 3 specifically as coloured vinyl, I'd guess the 3rd one as well.

I'm sure I've been through at least ten iterations of each album. The most recent ones were the best sound, and the most thorough bonus tracks -- we need to know if these new ones are repackagings of those same recent Deluxe Editions, or something even better.

Two Rob "the Caiger" twits on tweeter about the above reissues:

1. To the question "how many times now?" Rob replied: These are new masters (last time was 2012) done at AIRstudios
on colours not used before. Packaging improved on the 2-CDs as well. New things coming as well.

2. To the question "how many are being pressed?" Rob replied: 1,000 UK and 1,000 USA & slightly less for Europe, Japan, Rest of the world. Ogdens’ double that but that album always sells out fast however it goes out. Black vinyl same but that’ll stay on catalogue after the colours have gone. There’s demand in the States for the half-speed mastered Ogdens’ box as that was never domestically released there. If we do, I’d add some additional components as the price will be more expensive due to the rise in production costs these last few years.

What does he mean by "colours not used before"?

There are also vinyl editions so I suppose he means for those. Apparently one of the Ogdens variants will be available on super-vulgar technically-inferior GOLD vinyl (no, really).

Or... Rob could be saying that he's had to divert all his available resources into an exciting new project that involves extending the known colour spectrum by synthesising a range of fabulous new primary colours, which has meant that unfortunately The Autumn Stone box set has had to be further postponed until September 2269*.

Linda, I assume this means the vinyl LPs will be released in different colours this time as opposed to last time. According to images I've seen recently, the Small Faces LP will be on white vinyl, Ogdens on gold, can't find a colour yet for There Are But Four.

After checking with Discogs, previously:
Small Faces was issued on blue vinyl,
Ogdens in red,
a deluxe Ogdens 3-LP set in red, white, and blue,
There Are But Four in green.

Choosing the color of vinyl for the LPs is the type of decision that causes decades-long delays in the Small Faces reissue program.

Correction: the number of limited pressings I quoted above from Rob Caiger for these 3 reissues are for the coloured vinyl versions, not the CDs, nor the black vinyl versions. Rock on...

A wee bit uh news gnus. Finally we get track listings, but there doesn't appear to be anything new here. These 3 are still due out Feb 24. Plus the previously released (Immediate) Greatest Hits 1967-69 from 2014 will be out on March 24 as well.

1. "Small Faces" = 2-CD / 3 panel digi-sleeve with booklet, the same track listing (45 of them) as the previous 2012 release. Charly says it's remastered, but it isn't clear if this is the 2012 remaster or something new. Charly description from their website, which also describes the 2012 reissue as well:

"The remastered CD version has been expanded to a 2-disc set containing the original mono and stereo LPs plus no less than 17 bonus tracks! These include three of the band’s non-album classic hit singles, ‘Itchycoo Park’, ‘Tin Soldier’ and ‘Here Come The Nice’, b-sides and five alternative versions."

2. Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake = only a 2-CD release this time, not the 3-CD reissue from 2012, ugh, in a 3 panel digi-sleeve with booklet. But the 2 discs are the same as the first 2 discs off the 2012 = the mono album, and a disc of rare and alt stuff in both mono and stereo, total of 26 tracks. But no stereo CD proper, ugh. The paper wraparound says '"remastered", but is it 2012 rem or new rem? Charly says:

"The 2-CD edition features the mono mix of the original LP plus a second disc of rarities & alternate versions, initially released in 2012."

3. There Are But Four = 2-CD / 3 panel digi-sleeve with booklet, the same track listing of 31 cuts as 2014. Again, is this 2014 remastered or new? Charly says (same description applies to 2014):

"The remastered CD version has been expanded to a 2-disc set and features 19 bonus tracks, including a promotional DJ version produced for US AM radio stations plus early mixes and alternate takes."

4. Greatest Hits 1967-1969 = 1-CD, 2 panel digi-sleeve plus booklet, original mono singles, 20 tracks same as 2014, "remastered" but a repeat or new? Charly says (which can also describe the 2014):

" ‘Greatest Hits – The Immediate Years 1967 - 1969’ features a wealth of classic Small Faces singles released worldwide on Immediate Records.

For the first time ever, all the correct single versions are included, newly mastered from the original Immediate Records mono master tapes, approved by Small Faces members Kenney Jones and prior to his death Ian "Mac" McLagan.

Where R U Autumn Stone ??

OK Yall, from the SF Groping FB page, John O'Brien posted an Immediate Records / BMG / Charly ad (looks to be a full page ad like in one of them there UK music mags), describing all the upcoming SF LP and CD reissues. Don't know where it's from, I'll have to ask John. But it shows 5 SF album covers, including The Autumn Stone, all with catalog numbers, and this blurb: "The Autumn Stone will appear later in 2023 on multiple formats, including a deluxe box set". Looks to be the strongest confirmation yet I do think. Atomic batteries to power !! Turbines to speed !!

These are supposedly dew out today in 2-CD sets (except GH = 1-CD). I ain't ordered them yet, but I sure can't tell from the info if the mastering is new, or just a repeat from 2012 / 2014. The track listings are the same, except this Ogdens is only a 2-CD version, no 3rd stereo disc as before. But supposedly the liner notes are different with new interviews and stuff, and different digisleeve packaging.

Please report back if the sound is any better, or if there is anything different about any of the tracks, such as different intros or outros.
