Get Ready for Grantchester Season 8

Grantchester is a summer viewing staple, and a new season of the long-running mystery series is arriving soon! Grantchester Season 8 will premiere Sunday, July 9, 2023, 9/8c on MASTERPIECE Mystery! on PBS.     What Grantchester Season 8 is About

    Will’s life has changed for the better as he’s happily married to Bonnie. But fate introduces a stunning development that will rock Will’s life and shifts everything in Grantchester. Meanwhile, Geordie and Cathy are content, but when they are both confronted with surprising announcements from work, will it threaten their new-found happiness?  Mrs. C, Leonard, Jack and Daniel rally around as Will and Geordie find themselves in unfamiliar, emotional waters, where murder is always around the corner.

    Grantchester Season 8 Premiere Date

    The new season of Grantchester premieres Sunday, July 9, 9/8c on MASTERPIECE on PBS, and continues Sundays through August 6, 2023. On Sunday, August 6, fans will get a double dose of Grantchester, with the final two episodes of Season 8 airing in one night. Episode 5 begins at at 9/8c, and Episode 6, the season finale, premieres at 10/9c.

    There will be six, all-new episodes in the explosive new season of Grantchester.

    Episode 1 (Sunday, July 9, 9/8c)
    After a fun-filled charity motorbike race, a young biker is found dead. Will and Geordie struggle to work out who would want to hurt a gifted young man.

    Episode 2 (Sunday, July 16, 9/8c)
    In the aftermath of a fatal accident, Will is devastated to be the cause while Geordie rushes to exonerate his friend.

    Episode 3 (Sunday, July 23, 9/8c)
    At one of Cambridge’s most prestigious colleges, a man is murdered and a valuable painting is stolen, leaving Geordie to determine if the two crimes are linked.

    Episode 4 (Sunday, July 30, 9/8c)
    Leonard is devastated when a halfway house resident is found dead. The man confessed suicidal thoughts to Will, but is this suicide or murder?

    Episode 5 (Sunday, August 6, 9/8c)
    Geordie is placed on desk duty as Elliot contrives to force him to resign. The next murder case is handed to Larry, who struggles but wisely enlists the help of Miss Scott.

    Episode 6 (Sunday, August 6, 10/9c)
    Will has disappeared, but with Bonnie about to give birth, Geordie must find him and bring him to his senses before it is too late.

    Tom Brittney returns as Will in the new season of Grantchester. ‘“I’m absolutely chuffed that…I get to continue playing a character I adore so much. To be part of a show as well loved as this one, that is now in its eighth series, is an absolute honor.” Brittney is joined by Robson Green as Geordie, Tessa Peake-Jones as Mrs. C, Al Weaver as Leonard Finch, Kacey Ainsworth as Cathy Keating, Oliver Dimsdale as Daniel Marlowe, Nick Brimble as Jack Chapman, and Charlotte Ritchie as Bonnie.

    Special guest actors for this series include Shaun Dingwall (Top BoyNoughts & Crosses), Jeff Rawle (Harry Potter and the Goblet of FireDoc Martin) and Jemima Rooper (Gold DiggerThe Girlfriend Experience).

    You can watch Grantchester Season 8 on air, or stream full episodes online and with the PBS app. Each episode will be available for online streaming for 14 days starting at 9pm ET on the night of the national broadcast premiere.
