Iconic structure and maybe the most famous bridge in the world. It represents San Francisco and the state of California as much as anything. Several ways to experience. Easiest is to drive across. No toll northbound but there is a toll when returning to the city southbound. There are some great viewing points on the north side of the bridge in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area including a viewpoint found by taking the 2nd exit after crossing the bridge when headed northbound and a couple nice viewpoints on Conzelman Road (one way accessed by going through the Baker-Barry Tunnel). You can also bike or walk across the bridge in a pedestrian/bike lane. There are boats trips from along the Embarcadero that tour San Francisco Bay. We've done all of those, but this time we splurged on a helicopter tour with San Francisco Helicopter Tours, and it was amazing.

An iconic site that doesn't disappoint. Fantastic views back to San Francisco. But be aware that if you go on the open bus tour it can be very chilly on the top deck as it is always windy going over the bridge so wear something warm.

The iconic bridge connects San Francisco over the bay to north California. The view of the city and complete bay is terrific.....dramatic. After crossing there's an exit where you can stop and take photos, use the restrooms and enjoy the going and coming traffic over the Bridge below.

We hired two bikes from Golden Gate rentals in San Fran and headed off to the bridge, stopping off at a market on the way. The weather was dry and sunny, although when we got to the bridge it was a little windy. Having cycle across we made our way to Sausalito for lunch with the option of a ferry back but we decided we were feeling fit so cycled back across the bridge, having made it up the very steep hill from Sausalito. The wind had picked up and it was more difficult going across but we made it and got back to the rental shop having completed 19 miles. Not for the unfit!!

See this magnificent structure up close was an awesome experience. Just driving across and stopping to take in the view is great. Didn’t realize there was a ferry ride to Alcatraz, so it on the bucket list part 2. Would recommend as a must see.

This is a magnificent bridge in one of the most picturesque settings in the world. It was one of the places that we really want to see when we came to San Francisco. We were on a BigBus Tour and although it was really cold crossing over the bridge it was great once we got to the North Vista Point stop. We got to take lots of pictures including one of us with the Golden Gate Bridge behind us. I'm really glad we got the opportunity to see this while we were here in San Francisco. I would definitely recommend this to anybody wanting to see the iconic Golden Gate Bridge on their trip to San Francisco.

Wait until around noon for the fog to clear if you want a fog-free photo of the bridge. I've always wanted to see the Golden Gate bridge and finally had the chance in May 2023. Park your car or take an uber/lyft to Battery East parking lot for an unobstructed view of the bridge.

Come for one of the iconic viewpoints in the whole of USA. In fact there are multiple viewpoints across both sides of the bridge. WE were fairly limited on time so were satisfied with the view from the South side of the bridge. There is a small shop and welcome centre here though fairly minimal exhibits. There are however multiple great vantage points even just on the same side of the bridge so we spent about 45 minutes wandering around taking photos from different angles, which all came out great.

This was lovey. So aww inspiring. Instead of doing the boat cruise to the bridge, we drove over it and went to the other side and took pictures. No need to pay for the cruises, unless you want to take pictures from that angle.

Been there done that. If you are in San Fran you got to do it right? We hired bikes from Blazing Bikes and took off. Road across the bridge and back again. Did not want to carry on and find the ferry to get back. We enjoyed the bike ride, loved the scale of the bridge but no need to do again. Just one of a few things you should do when in San Fran - that is the only reason it gets the higher review than I would give it. Enjoyed riding all around the place on way back to Blazing Bikes.
