The obvious inspiration for this album would be Nat King Cole doing some "country flavored" pop of the era. But, well, Pat Boone making a country record is akin to Webb Pierce singing show tunes.

Sound is pop orchestra with backing vocals. This sounds very much like the kind of vocalist pop you'd hear on the Lawrence Welk Show. Boone croons. His vocals seem to be a cross between Guy Mitchell and Bing Crosby. "Singin' the Blues" on this sounds very much inspired by Guy Mitchell's pop hit, but Boone holds way back on the vocals.
