What an amazing find, beautiful gardens in a stunning location. Delicious lunch of soup and all the staff were very welcoming and friendly.

Always enjoy a visit here and it was as lovely as ever on 13th April. However, our experience in the cafe was outstanding. The three young men serving were very organised, extremely courteous and helpful. Food (cornish pasty, soup and later, scones) was excellent. Thank you!

We had a fantastic time making our own gins, it was a 40th birthday gift and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Our host Chris did a wonderful job of guiding us on how to make and distill and was an excellent host, relaxed and funny and full of knowledge and passion for his gin. It was wonderful being able to make our own using ingredients we had chosen, a very unique experience and one I highly recommend!

Lovely afternoon trip to taste a few gins and learn about the process. A highly recommended way to spend an hour or two on a wet afternoon with friends

Four of us visited here recently and had a tour of the property with Camilla, one of the NT’s volunteers. She gave us a really interesting and fascinating introduction to the history of the house, it’s various owners over the years and showed us around the interior, the gardens and outside buildings. She was excellent and the cottage is well worth going to, but remember to book in advance via the NT website.

This is a beautiful place and worth a visit. It is also an interesting place to photograph because of the shadows.

It is usually quiet and relaxing.

There is a river nearby as well as a playground.

Terrible park and they charge about £11 per person to visit. Go anyway else around the area as it’s free. They say it’s for the naturalness of it but they are ripping down a load more trees to build a bigger café. Discusting. It’s all for greed.

Very picturesque church. Over 1000 years old. Plenty of good photo opportunities. Nice stained glass windows best viewed from inside.

I played here on the 11th September. A glorious day weather wise, which always helps.

I cannot recommend this course enough. Very friendly small but well conceived clubhouse set up. However its the golf course itself which steals the show. The course was in very good condition. Some work going on but the tee boxes, fairways and importantly the green were all great. The greens deserve a special mention. Fairly quick, pure and immaculate. I guess the only observation is that most were fairly flat, or maybe i got lucky with borrows and deceptive reads.

As the course rightly advertises its a gem, incredibly good value. Some decent contours so not for everyone perhaps, but a good challenge intertwined with some risk/reward reachable par 4s.

My son for my birthday booked up a round of golf for me with him at Hurtmore Golf Club. I am not a member here so can only comment on my visit here today Tuesday 4 April. When we arrived at 06:55 for a 07:15 tee off we were warmly welcomed by staff and found the facilities/toilet area etc to be really very good. We actually teed off at 07:05 which was perfect for us as we dodge the crowds. The place was obviously nearly empty at that time although there were two/three groups of players already on the course ahead of us. The course was simply superb and very well maintained. The greens were excellent and everything thing looked to be in tip top condition. We arrived back at the clubhouse at 10:35, and even though it was early, we sat outside in the glorious sunshine and both had a beer and an excellent hot sausage roll. Price for two pints of beer and two sausage rolls £19:95 so not bad at all. By the time we left at 11:10 the car park was filling up nicely which is a good sign.
