list of theatrical animated feature films consists of animated films released theatrically, whether wide or limited, in the United States, as well as films made in the United States, but released theatrically in other countries.

Made-for-TV and direct-to-video films will not be featured on this list, unless they have had a theatrical release in some form. Primarily live-action films with heavy use of special effects are also not included.

However, on March 16, Universal Pictures announced that the film would be released simultaneously in drive-in theaters, as regular movie theaters closed due to the restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, and through Premium VOD in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, South Korea and Italy. This affected the number of projections and the box office performance of the screenings. As the pandemic receded, the film was released back in regular theatres.
