Glenn Miller and His Orchestra Limited Edition Volume 1. Issued in 1953 by RCA Victor, this 5 LP set is made up entirely of transcription discs recorded between April, 1939 and September, 1942. The 16", 331/3 rpm transcription discs were intended for use in radio broadcasts and were not intended to be released to the record buying public. RCA Victor has done a great service to the legacy of Glenn Miller by transferring these recordings to an LP format. (They were originally issued as 45 rpm EPs.) Most Transcription discs land in the hands of collectors and library collections. The list of performers involved is too long for including it here.
