A epic movie to be sure, this is not a movie to be missed. Russel Crowe is Gladiator. He completely embodies the role. The rest of the cast fits perfectly into place, especially Joaquin Phoenix's Commodus and Oliver Reed's Proximo. The direction is magnificent. Ridley Scott creates a melody of beautiful shots blended with great performances. The action sequences are quite good, with the battle at the beginning being a particular highlight. You gotta check this movie out, you will be entertained.
