I have the Girl From Chickasaw County CD Box Set, a complete retrospective. As a vinyl lover, I was really hoping that it was going to be released on vinyl. Although this isn't an exact replica of the entire CD set (which would probably be 20 albums or more) it is the perfect companion and extremely well-curated. Stunning collection of music

Bobbie evokes the American South like no other artist. Almost every song is a winner. Her voice is sultry and emotional and is a wonderful musical instrument. Her lyrics need to be read carefully. She ties you to a time and place that is other worldly. A place of Faulkner. Like a gothic southern novel. Another wonderful element is her cool producer. The use of strings and brass take us back to the mid sixties and are done really well. I wish I knew of a good name for this type of music, because it deserves its own description.

Two-disc highlights version of Bobbie Gentry 2018 box-set

I have the 2018 eight-disc boxset (FABULOUS!), and I've hyped it to friends a lot over the last four years. However, most of them balked at the price, despite admitting that it's an amazing retrospective on an underappreciated, truly talented artist. Now, I can start bugging them about this double-disc, definitely affordable, highlights version. It presents her as a restless talent, one who refused to be typecast by her first hit single and masterwork, Ode to Billy Joe. She painted her LPs with a wide brush, and in a wide array of colors and styles: Originals, covers, duets, country, folk, pop, swamp rock, R&B. Her range seemed to be unlimited. Ms. Gentry walked away from her very successful career in 1981, when she was just 39 years old, and has chosen to remain under the celebrity radar ever sense. Amazing talent. Amazing story. Five shining stars in a beautiful Southern summer sky and very highly recommended.

Gran selección de temas, muy buena presentación y un vinilo que suena de lujo sin imperfección alguna. Insisto: la calidad del prensado es espectacular, al menos mi copia. Entrega de un dia para otro, así que qué más se puede pedir. Hay que decir que creo que la versión CD tiene más canciones pero si eres amantes del vinilo es totalmente recomendable
