Acting career
Scott frequently appeared in soap operas, including stints playing Sky Rumson on “Dark Shadows” in 1970, Jeffrey Jordan on “Where the Heart Is” in 1972, David McAllister on “General Hospital” in 1982, and Billy Lewis on “Guiding Light” in 1994. His most prominent soap opera role was on “Dynasty,” where he starred from 1982 to 1984 as Mark Jennings, first husband of Krystle Carrington, played by Linda Evans. Scott starred in the short-lived 1984 HBO sitcom “1st & Ten” and in the 1981 CBS series “Concrete Cowboys.” He was also a prolific actor in commercials, playing a Marlboro man as well as appearing in ads for Camel cigarettes, Old Spice antiperspirant, and Maxwell House coffee, among many others.
