- Geoff Stirling JR, or Geoffrey Shyam Stirling was born on August 25th, 1979 to Geoffrey Scott Stirling of British and Scottish descent and Judith Olivia Young, of Italian and Russian decent. Known among colleagues as Geoff, he was born at the Stanford Hospital in Palo Alto, California. His middle name, Shyam, is a Sanskrit word for pure space which originated from a devout meditation instructor of India's guru tradition named Swami Shyam. His father, known as Scott, is the Chief Executive Officer for the Newfoundland Broadcasting Company, which originated from his father, Geoffrey William Stirling. He has an older brother named Jesse, who hosts a program for Newfoundland Television titled Meetings with Remarkable People. Jesse is married to Amanda Stirling, Senior Vice President Global Publicity at Universal Pictures. Geoff's younger sister, Lydia McLaughlin was a Real Housewife of Orange County on Bravo for two seasons along with his mother Judy, who appeared on the show as well. Lydia's husband, Doug McLaughlin, is the founder of a Men's Luxury magazine titled Nobleman.
