Genesis has recently unveiled a refreshed version of its Electrified G80 sedan, as well as a high-performance Magma concept at the Beijing motor show. The G80 EV Magma Concept is an impressive display of design and engineering capabilities, showcasing the brand’s commitment to meeting the evolving needs of consumers seeking ultimate performance.

The production version of the electric G80’s availability in various markets is still unknown. Although technical specifications have not been revealed, Genesis has confirmed the inclusion of ‘wider track-tuned suspension’ and larger brakes for improved roadholding and cornering. The sedan rides on lightweight 21-inch wheels with staggered tire widths and a lowered ride height, giving it a sportier appearance.

Cosmetic changes to the G80 EV Magma Concept include a redesigned front grille, rear diffuser, and ducktail spoiler. These enhancements optimize airflow and provide a more commanding presence on the road. The rear bumper features an integrated fog light reminiscent of iconic racing cars. Inside, the sedan boasts Alcantara and quilted leather upholstery, as well as carbon-fiber inserts with a blue weave, adding a touch of luxury.

In addition to the Magma Concept, Genesis has also introduced a refreshed version of the Electrified G80 sedan in Beijing. This updated model features a new color called Vision Blue, specifically aimed at Chinese buyers. The sedan has undergone changes to its exterior, including a restyled grille, headlights with Micro Lens Array technology, and a refreshed front bumper.

The most significant change to the Electrified G80 sedan is the increase in size, with the wheelbase stretched by 130mm. This extended-length body brings the model closer in resemblance to Genesis’ BMW 7 Series-rivaling G90 sedan. The 19-inch wheels and additional chrome trim also draw inspiration from the G90. Inside, the G80 offers reclining rear seats with leg rests, memory, and massaging functionality, ensuring a luxurious and comfortable experience for passengers.

Genesis has made efforts to reduce noise, vibration, and harshness in the Electrified G80, resulting in a more refined driving experience. The sedan now includes a 27-inch OLED display that combines the digital instrument cluster and infotainment touchscreen. It also features a premium 17-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system.

While Genesis has sold just 11 Electrified G80s in Australia last year, the brand continues to innovate and expand its electric vehicle lineup. The refreshed Electrified G80 and the high-performance Magma concept demonstrate Genesis’ commitment to providing cutting-edge technology, luxurious features, and an exceptional driving experience to its customers.

With limited imagery currently available, we eagerly await more details and visuals of the Electrified G80 and its Magma version. As Genesis seeks to compete with renowned luxury car brands, these new offerings are sure to captivate car enthusiasts and redefine the electric sedan segment.
