DEATH OF PRINCE BLUCHER.

The German newspapers announce the death of Prince Gebhard Blucher Von Wahlstatt, at the age of 80.

Prince Blucher Von Wahlstatt was a descendant of Ulrich de Blucher, of the principality of Lunebourg, who flourished in 1214. His descendant Gebhart Lebrecht de Blucher, who was born at Rostock in 1742, was the first to be created a Prussian Prince, but the title appears to have lapsed, as in 1814 the title of Prince was re-established with the addition of the title “Durchlaucht” in favour of Gebhard Graf Blucher Von Werkstatt, grandson of the famous Field Marshal, who became an hereditory member of the Prussian Chamber. This right, however, is at present suspended.
Prince Blucher, or to give him his full title, Gebhard Lebrecht 3rd Prince Blucher Von Wahlstatt, was born at Radun on March 18, 1836. He married, at Milwaukee, Alma Loeb, of New York.
By the second marriage, which took place at Neudorf on July 27, 1889, to Elizabeth, Countess of Perponoher-Sedintzky, the issue was “Graf” Lothair Guillaume Gebhard, born in the Island of Herm on October 20, 1890; and “Grafin” Gebhardine Antoinette Marie, born at Radun May 18, 1893. The second wife died on March 31, 1894. The third marriage took place at St. Petersburg on May 6, 1895, to Wanda, Princess Radziwill, by whom were the following: - “Grafin” Elizabeth Louise Gabrielle, born at Herm on March 11, 1897; “Grafin” Wanda Marie Anne, born at Radun on Feb. 24, 1898, and “Graf” Hubert Nicholas Ernest Gebhard, also born at Radun on September 10, 1902.
