Gary Marker (email, website) is professor of history at SUNY Stony brook. He is a specialist of Russian history, with interests in cultural history and the history of publication and reading. His publications include Days of A Russian Noblewoman: The Memories of Anna Labzina, Reinterpreting Russian History: Readings, 1860-1860s (with Daniel H. Kaiser), and Last Years of Peter the Great (editor).
