Jim Frock Sandbar Productions-Seven Seas Bait and Tackle Matlacha are holding a benefit concert for local music favorites Gary and Kerri, this Sunday, April 18, from noon to 5 p.m., at Two-Pines, which is one mile east of marker 79.

Last year Gary had a severe medical incident causing him to be hospitalized and has been recovering ever since. Like most musicians, performing is their main source of income.

Gary and Kerri started out performing mainly in Southwest Florida. If you’ve ever been to Bert’s Bar in Matlacha you’ve likely caught one of their shows.

Their talent and determination have taken them on a whirlwind of public and corporate performances throughout the United States. In November, 2007, the two answered a request to enter “Can You Duet,” a contest hosted by CMT in association with American Idol producers.

As of September, 2008, Gary & Kerri have recorded “911 / National Anthem,” “Live At The Southwick Inn,” “Nice to Meet You” and now their most recent single “Ain’t No Doubt,” bringing them to well over 5000 performances as a dynamic duo.
