Pacoima is a neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley of the city of Los Angeles, California. It is bordered the Mission Hills community to the west, Arleta to the south, Sun Valley to the southeast, Lake View Terrace to the northeast, and by the city of San Fernando to the north. In 2010 the population 75,014 with a median household income of $49,066. According to 1990 US Census data almost 40 percent of Pacoima’s residents were under 18 and more than 40 percent of Pacoima’s residents were born outside of the United States.

Pacoima – land of running water. That’s how I like to think of the city I grew up in from 1979-2018. We have some rich history in our city. I grew up with all these clicks. Grew up or went to school with a lot of good vatos from most of these clicks. Had familíeros from these clicks. I understand the reason for a click, to protect your barrio and your ppl. Those values started fading away and replaced by greed when dope jumped on the scene in the 80s. F… that, we should always protect our barrios against ppl who come in to do bad against our own ppl within our barrios. Protect our community and help the elderly. That would earn these clicks more respect within Pacas, P-Town, Pacoima however you refer to our city. To claim something you first need to know it’s history and why it is called Pacoima. Times have changed. It’s called progression. Let’s keep it going in a positive direction in our city we all love. These are strictly my own personal POVs.
