First Glances – Future Nostalgia
Dreampop keeps falling on my head
But that doesn’t mean my eyes will soon be turning red
Oslo-based, Future Nostalgia doff their caps to the dreampop and shoegaze masters of both past and present. It’s a resurgent scene. Belgiums Newmoon, Canadas Diamond Day and the UKs Whitelands have all recently dropped superb albums. I’d place the Norwegians somewhere between Diiv and Slowdive. (So they’re basically SlowDiiv in shorthand.) It’s a veritable dreampop deluge, dear reader and we’re here trying to catch it in a paper cup.
No matter, catch them we did. You won’t find it that easy to search Future Nostalgia though, (eg on YouTube) as it’ll keep bringing up Dua Lipa. Go, instead via our embedded video below and subscribe to their channel. It won’t be long before we will be doffing our caps to them!
