There will be at least one more Hoiberg on Nebraska basketball’s roster next season.

Lincoln Pius X guard Sam Hoiberg, the son of head coach Fred Hoiberg, announced he will join the Husker program for next season as a walk-on.

Sam Hoiberg, who also has a twin brother Charlie Hoiberg, announced his decision on social media on Thursday.

“Excited to announce I’ll be continuing my education and basketball career at the University of Nebraska.  Thanks to everyone who has helped get me to this point. Can’t wait live my dream of playing for my dad. #GBR"

Sam Hoiberg averaged 14.4 points 3.5 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game last season as a senior at Lincoln Pius X, leading the program to the state tournament.

It has been a busy week for the Hoiberg family on the recruiting trail. Jack Hoiberg, the second oldest of the Hoiberg’s kids, announced on Wednesday he was leaving Michigan State as a graduate transfer and entering the transfer portal.
