Timo Werner says £75k-a-week Spurs player is the funniest in the dressing room

Tottenham Hotspur are a completely different proposition to how they were last season.

Since Ange Postecoglou took the Spurs reins, things have improved massively on and off the pitch.

Tottenham were early pace-setters in the Premier League and remain firmly in contention for a top-four finish.

The Spurs dressing room seems really united at present, which is obviously important when it comes to going out and getting results on the pitch.

In addition, Postecoglou hasn’t hesitated in the transfer market, with Tottenham being busy in both the summer and the January windows.

One much-needed addition Spurs made was bringing in Timo Werner to bolster their attacking ranks.

How has Timo Werner fared at Tottenham so far?

Tottenham struck a bargain for the Germany international, signing him on loan with a reported £15million option to buy.

Werner has been bright for Spurs so far, registering two goals and three assists in 12 games.

On Wednesday, the Tottenham media team interviewed Werner for their ‘Getting to Know‘ feature.

One of the questions they asked the 27-year-old was about who he thought was the funniest in the dressing room.

Werner opted for Fraser Forster, saying: “Fraser is a funny guy, he’s a real joker.

“I think we have a lot of guys who are sometimes loud and like to have a laugh but Fraser is the main one.”

Who else has spoken about Fraser Forster being the funniest in the dressing room?

Werner is not the only Spurs player who has named Forster as the funniest player in the dressing room.

Micky van de Ven said the same a month ago, while former Celtic teammate Mohamed Elyounoussi joked that the £75,000-a-week ace was a “class clown”.

“Fraser is a really good guy,” he said in the Scottish Sun back in 2019.

“At Southampton I talked to him a lot and in the end we were in the same situation. He was always quite positive down there.

“I’d say he was kind of a clown, he talked a lot and made a few jokes. He’s still the same guy here.

“Fraser is a quality keeper. I think he was the best goalkeeper down at Southampton. He’s amazing when he’s at his best.”

It’s great to see Forster get praise for his humorous personality. You need such characters in the dressing room and it’s clear Spurs are benefiting.
