I've heard that the Thai fighters prey on tourists by offering them to "come in and do some Thai boxing in our gym" then they get the tourist in the ring and it almost always ends up like this.
If I'm not mistaken it's a pretty shitty move they do on purpose making the tourist think they are going to have some fun and get plastered
I’m sure it depends on the place but I’ve heard the exact opposite. I’ve always heard that Thai gyms are insanely accepting and caring towards everyone, foreigners included. Tourists coming to train is a big source of income so they treat you like family, and the sport also gets to thrive

This is absolutely not true. I’ve lived in Thailand a few times for months at a time. The tourists that get flatlined are asking for it. The Thai people are some of the friendliest I’ve ever encountered as a foreigner.
Yeah, I've never been there which is why I said "I've heard" and "if I'm not mistaken". I know I have seen a video of some Thai fighters kicking the shit out of tourists like this and some people were talking about how if you act like you are tough or want to fight they just plaster you with no one to really step in. Again never been there that's just what I heard now I will say I've heard otherwise
