About the Show

Imelda Staunton (Vera Drake, Harry Potter) and Francesca Annis (Home Fires, Cranford) star in a juicy, modern thriller about the perils of late-life romance. The four-part miniseries combines a mystery, an intrusive neighbor, and an enthralling family drama. With slyly comic undertones, this suspenseful story keeps everyone guessing right up until its final hour. “Flesh and Blood is a first-rate thriller, all twisty and featuring great performances,” says the Globe and Mail (UK).

Francesca Annis plays widowed mother and family matriarch Vivien, who declares to her grown kids that she’s in love with a new man. Stephen Rea (The Crying Game) is her new gentleman friend; Claudie Blakley (Pride and Prejudice, Gosford Park), Russell Tovey (The Good Liar), and Lydia Leonard (The Fifth Estate) play Vivien’s adult children who don’t take kindly to the news. Imelda Staunton is nosy neighbor Mary, and David Bamber (Valkyrie) is the detective trying to sort out whether an unfortunate incident was an accident or murder.
