What would you want as a flash forward or flash back for the Bad Batch finale?

This is a reference to a comment in Star Wars leaks, basically a vaguepost from someone insinuating they know something. Likely false.

But it made me wonder: if there was a flash forward or flash back in the finale, what would I want?

For a flash forward:

  1. Post ROTJ. Whatever happens to Omega, she's going to be hunted by the Empire, and I think she'd feel safe enough at this point to make herself known, and as 5+ is Mandoverse, I'm hoping she reunites with Fennec, and through her meets her brother Boba Fett.

  2. Maybe post TROS? She'd be an older woman now, but I think she will be the last Fett clone, and I'm curious as to what she'd be up to as the end of a legacy.

For a flash back:

  1. Kamino--> Nala Se creates the Bad Batch to the delight of a little Omega

  2. Kamino--> Nala Se and Jango Fett talk, and we get insight into the creation of Omega, OR Nala Se and Palpatine/Hemlock speak. It's been unclear when Nala Se knew--well anything--about Palpatine's desires, there's no indication in TCW that she knows Palpatine is a Sith Lord or anything else. Heck, she thinks Lord Tyranuus is a Jedi, and she believes the inhibitor chip does exactly what it's said to do: prevent rogue Jedi. It's clear at SOME point, she gets differing information, and I'm curious when that is, OR if she's know reality the whole time and played along that she knew nothing even with her boss. Number 1 is mostly wish fulfillment, but number 2 would explain a lot of things for both TCW and TBB.

I’d like to see the Batch as kids at least once. It just seems like something to be mined, showing the way they were treated by the regs back then. The Kaminoans too

u/Meushell avatar

That would be adorable. This needs to be made. I don’t know who would be cuter, little Tech or little Wrecker.

u/secretlypooping avatar

I was picturing a sad group of insecure kids getting bullied for being different and wondering why they can't be "normal" before someone (Nala Se) helped them realize that was all bullshit and their individuality made them who they are.

u/Meushell avatar

Aw. I don’t want sad kids. I want pint sized Bad Batch antics.

Me too! I need to see little tech. Wishful thinking but a "tales of the Jedi" of them young would be awesome. First epi is creation, second is when they're real young and just starting training. The third is just before becoming the troop 99 we all know and about to embark on thier first mission. I've thought about this way too much 🤓

I see a flash forward to an ambiguous many years later with Omega grown up, and she returns to Pabu to visit their memorial/grave in the museum (the bit with Tech's goggles, Lula, and whatever else is added representing the other members).

I've wanted a flashback to them as early adolescence since season 1. But in the event of a flash forward it would be fitting if there's a shot of an armour-clad Omega taking part in the battle of Jakku

What I would give for that battle to be on screen, and not the water downed bf version

On an unrelated sidnote, I am genuinely dreading this finale. Whatever’s about to happen, I ain’t ready for it 😭😭

jango jango jango. my biggest wish period is to see him in bad batch / tales / clone wars animation style. plenty of reason to flashback to him but they never seem to for some reason.

Closest was the Fives arc.

If it’s Jango you want, try playing the Star Wars: Bounty Hunter video game from 2002. It’s his origin story.

thanks for the recommendation but I played it back when it came out, and finally went back and beat it a few years ago. one of my favorite games ever.

While a flashback would be nice to see how the batch were in their younger years, it seems probable we would get a flash forward something akin to what Rebels did

Flash forward if we get an epilogue. It’ll be nice to see the Batch and Omega post Tantiss (assuming a few things don’t happen that is)

Kix and Boba exist so she probably won’t be the last Fett clone

Well, first of all I believe, or at least I hope, that the series will end on a more positive note with all of them surviving (Tech included). That being said, what I'd like to see as a flashforward would be just the batch in the middle of another mission.

I know it might sound lame but think of the beginning of season 2, where the first episode opened with them on that mission on the beach. It was fun, chaotic and it was also a good way to show us that they've been doing lots of missions as of that time and that Omega was growing up to be a more capable member of the team.

They could do a similar thing except now Omega is a little older, Crosshair is on the team just like the old times, and they have a new ship (Phee could be there to help them too) and maybe even new armor paints. And since they are all together, the mission goes on much more smoothly, though not with a few obstacles.

Also, even the goal of the mission might be different, instead of working for Cid, they're now doing it either for the people of Pabu, or for another community that needs their help. I'd like to think that, even if they keep a low profile and don't get involved in the fight with the Empire, they can still do their best to help other people in the galaxy like they did in some episodes.

I really like this and I think they deserve this because of literally everything they've been through. It doesn't have to end on a sad note and it is entirely possible for it to end on a positive note of them fading into the universe and blending in to protect Omega.

I loved the opening mission of season 2 as well. Running from crab people and Omega studying and fishing then directly into rescue of the guys! I'll take more of that please.

"It is an unscheduled study break"

I do love that they made education an important part of her training even though it's just military stuff they still know the importance of an education.

I think she will be the last Fett clone, and I'm curious as to what she'd be up to as the end of a legacy.

No, Kix will still be alive at this time unless they throw his comic into legends. It'd be cool to see them meet up and at least have each other in those lonely times.

I want a flashback more than a flash forward.

Leave Omega’s fate as open ended as you want. Gives more room for creatives and fanfiction writers although canon won’t stop them.

I think a flashback to explain the whole Emerie Karr/Nala/Hemlock situation is needed.

At this point I assume Emerie is a failed version of Omega.

But yea I would much rather a flashback than a flash forward. As much as I liked the rebels epilogue I really don’t think it was needed.

u/FadedtheRailfan avatar

Honestly I think a flash forward epilogue could be good. Show where Omega and perhaps the other clones like Hunter ended up, but also show what happened to Tantiss. Perhaps a connection to Ahsoka with the Chimaera above it?

Yes
