Fiorello H. Laguardia High School Of Music & Art & Performing Arts Reviews
Rating 3.79 out of 5 1,216 reviews
When I joined Laguardia High School, a community of talented people two years ago, I knew I was in good hands. I was shocked with the amount of freedom we were given. It taught me how to advocate for myself and I was able to find the true meaning of discipline. There are many opportunities to share your art with people who are just as creative as you and there's a ton of clubs that will help you refine your craft and gain memorable experiences. Laguardia has a ton of resources within and outside of school. After school, I would walk a few feet to Lincoln Center to either study, visit the Performing Arts library, or just to simply relax after a long day. The overall vibe of the school is very chill. The teachers are very understanding and most of them value your mental health. There are many delicious food options to choose from upon taking a one stop train ride either uptown or downtown. Although the environment is very competitive, it pushes me to become the best version of myself.
I came to this school to focus on my drama skills, and I am very satisfied with that aspect. I have had bad experiences with my academic teachers, but overall I think that LaGuardia is a good school. I would like to see more effort from the teachers to connect more with students. I would also like to see cleaner bathrooms. They're pretty disgusting.
I’ve had a great four years. Mostly good teachers. Rigorous academics, and I’m ready for college. The school definitely lives up to its reputation.
