After suffering a breakdown and quitting the force, former Detective Inspector Lorne Simpkins is contacted by a friend at MI6 to help in a covert operation. Against her will, Lorne is convinced to help track down an old enemy, a sadistic and calculating criminal whose ambition is to become the world's richest man.
It's up to Lorne and the agent to prevent him, which results in a chase through France.

More praise for Final Justice.

Final Justice is a fast-paced thrilling follow-up to Impeding Justice (which is a must read). The words, "He's back!", gave fair warning of another wild ride with DI Simpkin's nemesis, whom readers learned to despise, from Impeding Justice. Mel Comley had the foresight to allow us an ah-hah moment with insight to the psycho's reasoning. That blew me away...but I totally got it in hindsight. Readers can easily identify with DI Simpkins character, her frustrations of a woman working in a man's world of police work, and her utter fanaticism to track down the vile criminal known as The Unicorn.
Don't forget to check out Impeding Justice too.
The third book in the series Cruel Justice is currently with my agent and should be released soon. Watch this space...
Review
The plot is great and the story is full of exciting twists, turns and unexpected events. Great characters, great story, get thriller, great job. Mel Comley has definitely been added to my list of favorite authors. --La Lady said...
A chance to fly to France and stay alongside, and to root for, Lorne Simpkins as she hunts down the criminal who terrorized, drugged and raped her thirteen-year-old daughter, Charlie.
A definite page-turner! --Cait said...
This was a good thrill ride, right to the end. The characters are sometimes flawed, always interesting, and I wouldn't mind reading more of Lorne's adventures. --Ezlypist said...

While entertaining, the stories lack the realism, that would make them really great. The seeming pace of the activity which takes place in a very compressed timeframe is literally unbelievable, as is the way the police respond to all of the criminal activities.
I think Comley put together a nice package of entertainment here, but it isn’t a great detective story , or even a great spy story.
Lorne Simpkins has now left the police force but joins the hunt in France for the fiendish Unicorn killer. In many ways this thriller is superior to the first one and that one was excellent. The pace is slower, but the characters and motivations more well developed. The action is still strong enough to keep the reader turning pages. I read this during a recent flight to Vancouver and completed it in one day. A fantastic airplane and airport read.
Read the first one because it is the set up and follow with this one. A highly satisfying conclusion. Great job, Mel. I hope we will hear more from Lorne.

Final Justice is the 3rd of the Justice series. A year has passed since The Unicorn has yet again escaped from Lorne Simpkins and she has had a lot to deal with. After everything that happened to her daughter, she's also divorced her husband, had a breakdown, and left her job at the Met. However, Lorne returns to that world when she gets a call from MI6 agent Tony Warner, and is off on the hunt of her nemesis once again.
Not as fast paced as previous books, but gripping just the same. I love how the characters are developing and you get to know them better. The series is better and better with each installment!
What a series I was captured from the beginning and can not recommend this series and writer highly enough
My mere words cannot touch on her brilliance as an author - well done Mel Comley
