Audience Member While the only version I was able to see of this is the MST3K version, I would say again that I would happily track down the normal release, just to see how corny Joe Don Baker's character comes off without the robots making fun of him constantly. Rental! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member A Mobius strip of bad. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member Gratuitous titties and furry criminals occupy the most uninspiring depiction of Malta in the history of cinema in grey Greydon Clark's grey cop movie. The film follows Joe Don Baker, or 'Sheriff Thomas Jefferson Geronimo' ("it's pronounced Heronimo!"), a chubby Texan cop who ought to "stop eating those damn donuts". GHeronimo spits riddles, incorrectly counts bullets and complains when drinks and blood are spilt on his waterproof, crocodile skin boots. But his real goal is to stop an escaped Sicilian villain (the equally inventively-named Mr Palermo). Most of you will lose the plot around about this point, but there's a small joy in watching "the most qualified deputy sheriff in Texas" brandish a phallic revolver with more charisma and character depth than his own face. With emphasis on the word 'small'. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member An incompetent and hilarious mess of a film with the only talent coming from Joe Don Baker who's putting his whole heart into his performance. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member The best unqualified black comedy of the 80's really does disappoint in the genres of 'action', 'suspense', and 'drama'. The plot is repetitive after the third time Sherriff Geronimo (for some odd reason, pronounced 'Heronimo') (Joe Don Baker) winds up in the jail of Malta, even though that plot shouldn't have been continued from when the villain was captured (it isn't even well explained why Geronimo has to be brought along to bring him to Italy). And despite being told four times not to pursue the villain, he never learns his lesson and continues trying to get Palermo. The film even ends abruptly after the villain is shot (sorry, spoilers...) with a lousy last line to boot, though it does have a rather catchy song. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Oh boy. Here we go again with another Joe Don Baker stinker. Final Justice tells the story of a small town sheriff whom, after seeing his partner shot, arrests the Italian man responsible and escorts back to his home country for trial. The man escapes with the help of his goons and we spend the rest of the movie watching Joe Don Baker rough people up, kill people and be reprimanded by the local police. It's kind of a terrible movie with a lead character as about as relatable as a bedpan. The movie does have some unintentional comedy in it, but not enough of it. It mainly just meanders all over the place. Thankfully, the crew at Mystery Science Theater 3000 help that cause though. This is not a movie that I'd recommend in any way other than seeing the MST3K episode, which I feel is one of their best overall.
