This is where it all came from. Stuff just like this. This is R&B at it's roots, delivered by a man who knew how to deliver indeed. There wasn't a genre called Soul when Willie was doin' it, but that's really what it is. Just like Ray, he takes it to church, and testifies in every song. There's not a bad one in the bunch, and this collection really covers the best of this way to short career. Check it.

Little Willie came to an unfortunate and suspicious end at the age of 31, after being convicted of murder several years previously. Thankfully he left behind some great R&B numbers, soul music before its time. The oft-covered 'Fever' is the obvious standout, along with his other hit 'All Around the World', but there are some other great performances by the swingin shawty.
