About
Hallowed ground to baseball fans, this century-old ballpark is the home field of the Boston Red Sox. Fans often flock to Fenway Park to catch a game over beer and hot dogs—the game season typically runs from April through October. You might want to stay till at least the eighth inning to sing “Sweet Caroline” with the crowd. The stadium is also home to the iconic Green Monster wall, a 37-foot-tall left-field wall. Apart from games, you can join a year-round guided tour of the stadium to learn about the history of the sport and the team, as well as get a behind-the-scenes peek into the locker room. – Tripadvisor

So many interesting stories and wonderful memorabilia to admire. The guides ooze with enthusiasm and pride. Well worth the time and effort.Visited May 2023Traveled with familyWritten May 4, 2023
- Paul H6 contributionsLoved it! In terrific shape for its age!My wife and I flew in from Seattle to see the Mariners take on the Red Sox for two games. We sat in the visitors dugout area both nights and the views of the game were awesome! But it seems there isn't a bad seat in the place unless you are behind one of the beams in upper part of lower levels. The concourse was very clean and the food and drink lines weren't bad at all. Plenty of restrooms and again lines weren't bad at all. I highly recommend seeing games at Fenway to any baseball fan.Visited May 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten May 18, 2023
- DTROONTopeka, Kansas322 contributionsDo it!We decided last minute to go to a Red Sox game while we were in town. We enjoyed walking around the outside, wandering the inside, watching the game with the old school score wall, and visiting the merch shop. - grotshopsAustin, Texas121 contributionsOne of a kindWe took a Fenway Park tour, which we highly recommend. The park has a tremendous amount of history, and it may be your only chance to occupy the Green Monster seats unless you are on an expense account. We also saw a game while in town, and the experience is at least on a par with Wrigley Field in terms of feeling close to the action and a part of the crowd.Visited June 2023Written June 8, 2023
- roadkill67829 contributionsNostalgia Galore!!Socks were playing the Rays, and we lucked out with a Sunday game. Since we are from Florida it was a win win for us to attend a game. What a great experience. From the subway ride to the park, the feel of the stadium, and even the crowd excitement. All made the experience just superb. We were so impressed with how well the stadium functioned and we felt like we stepped back in time. What a great experience!Visited June 2023Written June 16, 2023

- 949bhSouthampton, Massachusetts31 contributionsOld but great! It really is a unique ballpark with the Green Monster, the distant centerfield bleachers, the many seats that don't face home plate, the cramped leg room, and the expensive (and not very good) food and drink. But I wouldn't trade it for any other MLB park! The fans are knowlegeable, and let their opinion of good or bad plays be heard. Hint: try why of the reselling ticket agencies before you pay box office price for admission.Visited June 2023Traveled with friendsWritten June 22, 2023
- Jaskel08California260 contributionsAmazing baseball experienceI have been to lot of of baseball games across the country, and Fenway Park is my favorite. The oldest existing MLB stadium and it has so much charm. It actually doesn’t feel big…. feels warm and homey. We stayed just west of Copley Square and it was a quick 20 minute walk to the park……. I love how I didn’t have to Uber, take light rail, or drive. There are a ton of restaurants surrounding the park, which creates a fun party scene. We went to an evening game against the Yankees with young kids and felt very safe. Lines went quickly. Our seats were comfortable (there are some that are small/tight). Food inside the park is expensive. One negative, is there isn’t a huge variety of food options in the park. Plus, it’s expensive. I recommend you eat before or after the game in one of the restaurants across the street from the park. Some seat are can be problematic….. strongly recommend doing a quick google search on which seats to avoid. And of course, one of our highlights was singing Sweet Caroline….. everyone was so into it.Visited June 2023Written July 1, 2023
- Christy ABristol, Virginia19 contributionsFun experience! It was fun and entertaining! The place was packed for the game, outside was also packed. Food inside is good but pricey. Vendors bring around hot dogs, peanuts, beer and other drinks. Staff was very friendly! Watch the Jumbotron you may be on it, so be prepared! A very fun experience!Visited June 2023Traveled with familyWritten July 3, 2023

One of my best trips to Fenway yet, The Red Sox ended up winning 6-4 in 13 innings with a walk off home run by Christian Vasquez. The food and drinks are pretty expensive but you can get good tickets for a fair price ($60-136 for decent seats.)
If you go to a game in the fall or winter make sure to bring a few layers so you don’t get to cold. Go Sox!

What kind of baseball fan doesn't visit a shrine like this. I am not a Red Sox fan but I can appreciate a throwback park. The stadium is not like the new ones which are built today but who the heck wants new? I want history, charm and no better place to get this than visiting Fenway. My first visit but not my last. Our seats were by the Penske Pole so to catch the action our neck was turned for the whole time but who cares it was fun. The concession stands were average but what the heck you are at a ball park, eat ball park food.
By the way, the fans in attendance were fun to engage with, it was fun to be able to check off another stadium from the bucket list of fan things to do and visit.

Fenway Park has a lot of history behind it. While we did not attend a game at Fenway, we did take an organized tour of the Park. It opened in 1912 and is the oldest active ballpark in the United States. The one-hour tour took us to the press area, the "monster seats" and many other areas of the ballpark. Our tour guide did an excellent job of explaining the history of the Park and the use of the Park for concerts, hockey, football, etc. over the years.
In addition to the tour, I recommend you visit the Red Sox store right across the street from the park. It is the largest souvenir store I've ever seen and covers an entire block. Red Sox memorabilia galore!!
I highly recommend a tour of Fenway Park if you visit Boston. Due to the scarcity of tickets available to see a game, this tour may be the only way you will ever see the park up clase as well as learn about its history.

Unless you hate baseball I can't imagine not enjoying seeing a game here - it's such a classic ballpark. As other users have noted, however, the seats are quite pricey compared to other parks but that's to be expected. I'd definitely recommend it for those who even remotely enjoy baseball.

I love the fact that Fenway is located in Downtown Boston - an easy walk from anywhere in the City. Fenway is more than a ballpark, it is a destination. With the opening of TimeOut in the neighborhood, you can now eat at a 5 Start restaurant before or after the game!

I had visited Fenway Park on a tour when I was young, but now finally made it back for a game with my son. We lucked out and saw that Green Monster seats were available from the Red Sox directly. They were still some of the more expensive seats in the building, but much much cheaper than what they were selling for in the secondary market. So we splurged, and I'm happy that we did. It's truly a unique experience to watch a game from up there.
It was an easy walk from the Back Bay neighborhood where we were staying.
My only caveat with the Green Monster seats is that unless you're seated in the front row, then the viewing experience may not be ideal. Our seats were in the front.
As a baseball fan, it's a must do experience. My son has a lifelong goal of seeing a game at all 30 stadiums. Out of the 7 he's hit so far, this one ranks #1.

We visited this stadium and we knew it has history like no other and had heard you are always guaranteed fun and action when you come to a ballgame at Fenway Park. The food is quite tasty and available at each and every corner you make. The prices are very reasonable but the thing that sticks out the most is the superior service from all the staff. Such a good team. Excellent job to everyone and a special thanks to the management for running such a well oiled machine. Why can’t all stadiums be like this?

We are on a quest to see a game in every ballpark. We had tickets for a night game but went over in the early afternoon to walk around the park so we could take in the statues and ambiance without a big crowd. My son said the seats in the park were uncomfortable and I reminded him they were made at a time when people were smaller (height and especially weight). This a must see if you are a fan of the game.

Somebody needs to tell these Boston fans to get a grip. You can't walk into this place supporting any other team without being heckled and threatened. There were bloodstains and sticky beer spills all over the floor. Boston lives up to its reputation.

I'm heading to Fenway in about a month and looking for good place to get food and drink before the game that has any happy hour deals. I used to go to Yardhouse for the half price apps during the week they no longer offer that on game nights. Any other spots within a comfortable walking distance that would have good happy hour deals? Thanks!

On our visit, I didn't notice any ramps, I do believe to access the park itself and to get to the seats you should not have any issues, but most of this tour is going up and down stairs. I know that they do have an elevator to access the restaurant level. But I would definitely contact the park before heading over for a visit.

Is there a purse/bag policy? Is it strict?
Ned41
Union City99 contributions
I didn't carry a bag, nor did my wife, so I can't say for sure. I certainly do not recall a rigorous inspection at entry. Here's the wording from Fenway's website:
"Bag Policy
Bags must be 5"x9"x2" or smaller (the size of a small purse or clutch). Backpacks, drawstring bags, duffel bags, tote bags, oversized purses, and other similar style bags are NOT permitted. Exceptions will be made for diaper bags and bags containing essential medical equipment. All bags will be subject to search as referenced above. Please pay close attention to the prohibited items list below.
Fans who arrive to an entry gate for a game with a non-permitted bag will have the option of storing their bag for a fee with a third-party locker company. This locker truck is located on top of the Lansdowne Garage across from Gate E.
For the remainder of the 2022 season, single-compartment clear bags measuring no larger than 12"x12"x6" will also be allowed. Bags must be clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC. Clear backpacks are not allowed. These single-compartment bags must be completely clear without anything concealing part of the bag.
This addition to the approved bag list is part of a pilot program to explore the feasibility of a clear bag policy for the 2023 season.
Prohibited Items
Below is a list of items that will not be permitted into Fenway Park. The Red Sox will not be responsible for storing any of the items on the following list. Any prohibited items left at the screening area shall be considered surrendered and will be discarded. Fans will not be able to retrieve any surrendered items. Concealment of any item on the below list could result in denial of entry. Fenway Park is a private facility and reserves the right to prohibit any item not on the below list in the interest of public safety and enjoyment for all fans.
Bags larger than 5"x9"x2" in size
Firearms, including those held by lawfully licensed individuals or off-duty police officers of any law enforcement agency or jurisdiction. This restriction includes ammunition.
Knives, box cutters, tool of any kind (including Leatherman), or any item that could be used as a weapon
Marijuana (including medical marijuana)
Pepper spray or mace
Hard-sided coolers
Cans, bottles, glass containers except one sealed 16oz plastic bottle of water
Alcoholic beverages, illegal substances
Noise-making devices
Laser pointers or similar devices that may be used to disrupt play on the field
Costumes and/or costume masks
Clothing items determined offensive by Red Sox management
Signs, banners and other items may be admitted as long as they do not: obstruct the sight lines of other fans, cover up existing signage, exhibit messages commercial or political in nature, create a disturbance or contain obscene or offensive language or interfere with other fans' enjoyment of the game. Signs, banners and other items may not be paraded around the ballpark, affixed to any permanent structures, or hung over fascia boards or the Green Monster. Management reserves the right to remove any signs or banners at any time. Each banner and sign must comply with our Code of Conduct.
Umbrellas are allowed inside Fenway Park but may only be used during official rain delays
Professional audio/visual equipment including tri-pods and mono-pods are prohibited from Fenway Park. Consumer rated cameras and video cameras are permitted but cannot be used to reproduce the game and must not interfere with other fans' enjoyment of the game."
