Plot – In 1971 the journalist Raoul Duke and his lawyer Dr. Gonzo leave California on board of a red convertible. The direction is Las Vegas, where Duke has to write about a motorbike race and Gonzo has to attend a convention of lawyers and prosecutors. They bring with them an unlimited stockpile of mescaline, weed, ecstasy and other drugs that they make extensive use of. They cross the desert of Nevada and horrific visions accompany them: the attack of a flock of bats, groups of lizards that organize parties in the hotel, the floor that melts beneath the feet. They also make strange encounters: a policeman as strict as lonely that harasses Duke; a television journalist who takes advantage of Gonzo’s mad love; a little girl escaped from home and a maniac mystic who has settled in their room and could lead to trouble with the law.
